My husband and I are planning to win 500 million dollars tomorrow night from the Mega Millions. When I win, I think I'll take a little time off work. For those of you who work, would you quit your job if you won the lottery?

I'd quit in a heartbeat. Just because I'd love to stay at home once our LO arrives. Once she got a little older, I'd probably want to do something part time.

I think now I'd like to quit, but I think I might get bored sitting at home all day with nothing to do but sit in my piles of money.

Nope, I love my job so I would not quit. But I would take time off to travel!

If I won $500 million, yes, I would quit in a heartbeat. I would only quit if it was enough money that I knew I'd never have to worry about working again.

Definitely! I would want to be there full time for my children. Once they were in school, though I would have to do something. I would probably get involved with a non-profit that I am very passionate about and get more involved with my church.

I would probably quit my current job and take some time to travel. I still like career and like working so I probably would go back to the industry, but not be paid for it.

Hell to the YES!
But I'd start my own business with some of the money (after gallavanting the globe), so I guess I would be working, but it would me my dream job.

@PhotoJane
Looks like we have something in common, cause dh and myself are planning to win $500 million tomorrow night too! What a coinkidink
I think I'd go very part-time. I've been a full time SAHM and after a few years it does get a little boring, especially when they start preschool.
Good luck to us

I would quit my current job for sure, we'd do a lot of VERY quick traveling (before this baby comes!), we'd move to a bigger place, get a cook and housekeeper (@Mrs. Bee we're SO on the same page) and buy small places near us for the grandparents to come and stay whenever they want. I think I'd hire a full time live in nanny too.
I would love to then start my own business. Not really sure exactly what it would be yet. I'm sure Wagon Sr. would probably quit his job, but only to pursue some more degrees and ultimately end up in his dream job and also teach and write.
I also plan on achieving all of this eventually... just not THIS YEAR if it were to be because of the lottery. Maybe in 10 years!

@photojane: @StbHisMrs: Me too, so it looks like we're splitting it three ways. What a hardship.
I wouldn't quit right away. I'd work until we have LOs and then be a SAHM. After they go to school, I would probably return to work part-time or start a business.

Oh heck yes, I would not even hesitate. No notice, nothing, I would be selfish like that! I would try to find something I loved and would volunteer.

I wouldn't right away. I would love to start my own business with my husband and have more time to volunteer.

I'm planning on quitting in October when we have this baby anyway so winning the lottery would make that even easier! My husband would probably quit his current job as well though and we'd go into flipping houses like we've wanted

I'm a SAHM so not much would change. Maybe I'd hire a chef and housekeeper
DH loves what he does and doesn't consider it work, so he'd continue to do his thing. We'd probably take more trips though.
