@rahlyrah: oh, comfortable shoes are worth their weight in gold as a teacher! I say go for it. I have several pairs of Cole Haan Nike shoes and they're so comfortable that they're worth the money.

I've never tried on tieks, but if they really are that comfortable, I say get them. I end up wearing the same shoes like every day, so even if they are $$$ its still better than buying three ok pairs that aren't as comfortable. Shoes are the one thing I won't skimp on- I have had too many "great deal" shoes that I never wore.

Oh- but only if they really are comfortable to you! I have a few pairs of super cute cole hasn shoes that I convinced myself were comfortable, but they just don't fit my feet. So sad but just bc they are comfy for others doesn't mean they are for you.

Get some Gap Ballet Flats... really comfortable, last forever, super cute and WAY cheaper.

@rahlyrah: can you order them and wear them around inside for a bit? That's what i do with zappos.

When I had a job on my feet all day, they hurt so badly at the end of the day. I say splurge on a comfortable pair of shoes!

Look at Clarks. They mostly do old lady shoes, but once and a while their 'younger' brand, Indigo, has some winners. They are totally comfy, especially their sandals. They are usually around $85-100, but I've scored some for $45.

Also, J. Crew's ballet flats are quite comfortable. I bought the suede ones on sale for like $60.

@rahlyrah: you're crazy, back off that ledge! that is way too much $ for shoes you can't even try on! i think Born flats are really comfy and some styles are modern and cute. googled the tieks - they look just like my gap city flats??

They seem to have free shipping and free returns. I would try them on at home and if they truly feel better than any other shoe, then they would be worth it.

However, sometimes comfort isn't apparent until you've walked in them a lot
