We are team green but during our ultrasound I thought I saw boy parts (she never said don't look now or anything) and the tech made a later comment about how great "brothers" will be after asking how old DS is and then she didn't say anything else the whole ultrasound. I'm pretty dissappointed about knowing but i am excited about the prospect of Two boys 19 ,months apart! Did anyone else's tech slip? Was your suspicion right in the end?

My tech didn't slip up, I think I said 20 times each u/s that I didn't want to know!! I would have been furious. However, because she didn't come right out and say it to you, you'll likely still always be wondering!

@Beyond2: Ugh...hopefully she just meant that the son you already have will be a good brother? But I think that's stretching it.
Although, I'm really excited to be giving DS a brother, too!

We were TG and my doctor referred to my LO as "she" during one of my ultrasounds but I ended up have a boy

I didn't see anything but at the end of my ultrasound the tech said "turn to your side and we will see if she moves". I said "she??!!" And the tech said "oh I call them all she's"
I'll never know for sure if she slipped but LO was a girl in the end.

This is almost the worst of both world- you think the surprise was spiked but you are still left wondering! I think Bao had an u/a tech slip and tell her.
If it is a boy, they will be so lucky to have brothers. They can be besties growing up

I don't know if you'd really call this a slip but we mentioned multiple times during the US that we didn't want to know the gender and that we were looking forward to the surprise. The tech didn't say anything about gender and told us to close our eyes/look away when she scanned that area. However, when she gave us our pictures there was one that I swore had boy parts. I asked my co-workers and family what they thought and everyone said I was imagining it. DS was born and when I looked at the US picture again I can most definitely make out the boy parts. I truly think it was just oversight on the techs part because DS was a wiggle worm during the US and she had trouble getting any really good pics for us.

Our ultrasound doc slipped but we weren't 100% sure if she had or if she was just messing with us. She said "she" (well, in Spanish) at one point and afterwards I wanted to spend hours analyzing this, but my husband was like, "oh, she's probably messing with us" and he deemed it meaningless. But, in the end, it was a girl!!! The same thing happened with my friend and the "clue" ended up being wrong. SO, you never know.

We were Team Green and made it very clear during each ultrasound that we did not want to know! A few times the different techs used a generic "he" pronoun but I didn't read into it too much. We did wind up having a boy but I can't be sure if they had slipped or if they were just being middle of the road.

Oh that would make me really upset-I'm sorry . But if you are really having a boy, that is really exciting! And crazy-there are so many mamas expecting boys in April!!

Ours told us when to look away and was great about not letting us catch a glimpse of the lower half except for an extreme closeup on an adorable baby foot. We most likely won't have another ultrasound, which means less chance of any slip ups.

Not team green, but our tech said that more often than not when a TG patent looks at the screen and thinks they are seeing a boy, it's usually the umbilical cord.
She cracked me up saying that the team green parents are usually the ones looking the hardest

One friend of mine bought a $500 3D/4D ultrasound package, she was Team Green. It was a lot of money for "don't look now" and very few pictures
Two other friends had high risk pregnancies with lots of ultrasounds and could clearly see their LOs were boys.

This happened to us! We made it through the 20 week ultrasound just fine. However, we needed another one at 25 weeks to check the spine. We went in and told her we didn't want to know, she turned the screen and we looked away. We were just about ready to leave and I asked baby's weight. She said "oh it's great, about the 18th percentile for a GIRL!" DH and I looked at each other and our hearts sank and you could tell she knew what she did because her face just dropped. We were in shock so didn't say anything while there then in the car I started crying. DH ended up calling and telling the office manager what happened and said that the tech said she did no such thing. They ended up saying we could come back and we did and the tech goes "oh looks like it is a girl" well, duh! Then in the end she said she was sorry if she slipped and hadn't done that in 12 years. We were bummed but made the best of it

I did like you and didn't say anything until we got outside at which point I said to DH "how did you like seeing your little boy?!" He said "oh, you caught on to that too." Maybe we're wrong but it certainly seemed obvious. Let's say that I'm convinced enough not to even look at baby girl names anymore...

@Beyond2: would it make you feel better to call and explain what happened and see if you can get another U/S? We had to because it was driving us crazy, even though we wanted to be team green SO bad. I'm sorry you are going through this

My friend was team green and they US tech kept saying him then catching herself so they were sure it was going to be a boy. Alas, their little girl is totally adorable and an even bigger surprise because they were convinced she was going to be a he.

I actually thought about that. I'd almost feel better knowing because I feel so sure based on her comment, but DH won't go for it. He says we still don't know for sure until the baby comes out. He has a point I guess but this is much more frustrating. I love surprises, but not when I think I know them lol.

I think people sometimes just default to using a pronoun other than "it". I called my own baby "she" all the time even though I didn't know if it was a boy or a girl. Turns out I was right and she was a she : )

Well my midwife confirmed it for me... Were having another boy for sure! I'm so disappointed to lose the surprise, but can't wait to have another boy. On the plus side, Picking a name will definitly be easier now

Oh bummer to hear about that.
I'd be pretty upset even at the hint of what the gender is. But having two boys and I can tell you that it's great! They are buddies when they are nice to each other and it's so cute watching them play. They are about 3 years apart and can still play which is nice. Of course, they fight but what siblings don't fight? Plus, even if she didn't say it I'm sure you're still wondering, right? -
