I am *almost* 16 weeks pregnant and up until now we have been adamant about not finding out the gender of our baby. However, the closer I get to that ultrasound the harder it is becoming and for so many reasons!! With my other two pregnancies I found out the genders this week! I am a crafty person and there are so many things I want to make for the baby, but its really hard to do neutral. For instance, if its a girl I want to make a bunch of hair bows and headbands and all kinds of things that can't be for a boy. For a boy I want to make some cute little hats and such. I just know that I wont have the time I need after the baby to make this stuff!! At the same time though I think that "It's a -----" moment would be amazing and I really did want to experience that! Ahh, I just can't make up my mind and DH is for not finding out, but he would be fine with whatever I want to do!
I saw on pinterest where the ultrasound tech writes the gender on a piece of paper and you have the inside of a cake baked blue or pink. I think that would be really fun to do with just our family. We have 4 kids already so I am trying to keep them as involved as possible in this pregnancy.
ETA: The gender reveal would be done with just DH, the kids, and I. No big party, just a fun family thing!
