So I lost my mucus plug this afternoon (yay!). So of course I've been googling mucus plug ever since. Pretty much everything I'm finding says it will be clear or white and possibly twinged with red, pink, or brown. But my whole plug was brown/snot colored. I haven't had anything bright red or any actual bleeding. And no discharge since the plug came out. So I'm not super worried but it doesn't seem like what I experienced is at least unusual. Did anyone else have a brown mucus plug?

Mine was about 4 inches long, clear and stringy.. If you looked close you could see strands of white, light pink, and colors in between.
Didn't look like snot.
It was beautiful! -

Mine was brown / red snot colored top. I lost it in two parts!

Mine came out in pieces over the span of a week or two. It was mostly white but I did notice a little bit of pink once or twice.

mine came out in the shower. I almost gagged. definitely brown and red.
that was at night - and allllll the next morning and early afternoon I lost what I swear was my body weight in nasty bloody mucus. water broke at 450 pm and she was born at 9:27p!

Mine came out in pieces over the course of a day. All watery and pink and gross. Throughout that day I started having more regular B-H contractions, and by that night I was in early labor. I had my baby... 3 days later! (Yes, it was an absurdly long labor.)

I had what I thought was a mucus plug that was clear snot looking, but then a few weeks later I had my membranes stripped and had lots of thick goopy red/brown mucus. I went into labor 48 hours later.

Mine came out looking like snot at first and then it was like a pink-tinged mucus for the rest of the day until she was born. When it fell out I felt a pop and it started my labor.
