We did an IUI so DH was very aware of the timing and asked me every day if I was going to test. Initially I thought maybe he might not realize I could start testing early but he was really excited and impatient. So when I took the tests, he was always right there watching the line appear with me. When the Wondfo line started getting very dark around 10 DPO and I took an FRER to confirm he saw it with me and that's when we got really excited

I tested after work the night before the beta at our IVF clinic and got a positive. By the time my husband got home, I was a blotchy crying mess and I sort of just threw myself and the pee stick at him when he walked in the door!

I had purchased a shirt for our dog that says 'big sister' and planned on putting it on her and wait til he noticed. But in reality, he had just left for a 3 day hunting trip. I knew I couldn't wait til he got home, so I told him over the phone and texted him pictures of the tests. It ended in a MC, I doubt I'll do anything special next time. I'm hoping to be able to tell him in person, though!

I went with the fantasy option! After I tested I asked DH if he wanted to go to the park for a walk, and then I drive to the park where he proposed to me. I took him out to the exact spot where he had proposed, on the dock, got down on one knee, and asked "Will you be a papa?" And then I opened my glasses case to reveal the positive test.

It was awesome, and I'm so glad I pulled it off.

Hahahahaha! I did the same thing! Had months of plans of what I would do and in the end walked shaking into the living room and pulled him to the bathroom to look at the stick. Couldn't even talk.

we both found out when i was in the ER (for an issue unrelated to the pregnancy) and a doctor came in after seeing my blood test results and said, "wait, i'm confused, so did you not know you were pregnant when you came in today?" we had been trying so i knew it was a possibility, but it was so early i don't think an HPT would have picked it up.

I did the reality option both times, lol. The first time I woke him up (it was his birthday) and shoved the pee stick in his face.

The second time I had a panic attack in the bathroom (because of a previous loss). I had been in the bathroom for a while and he needed to pee, so he went to the other bathroom. When he came back I was sitting in the bed holding the pee stick with tears welling up. I just handed it to him.

Both times it was about 5am, and we went back to sleep, lol!

With S, he was waiting outside the bathroom door for my result.

With this one, I texted him at work, lol.

I had 2 MCs before a sticky pregnancy. The first time I was in shock and panicked and needed him to see the second line. For the second one I was so nervous that he was with me while I tested.

When I got the BFP for our son I just showed him because I was excited but also feeling very cautious. When I got another BFP 6 months after our son was born I was completely shocked and just blurted it out as soon as he got home from work haha.

Our first pregnancy, I found out on valentines day. I have him a onesie as a gift, and it took him a minute to figure out what was going on.

This time around, I told him right away. I retested on 11dpo at like 4:30 in the morning and I woke him right up. He told me "oh, that's nice. Congratulations. ::snore::" and fell right back asleep. I had to call my RE by 6:45am to schedule same day beta, which he knew about.. He was just waking up as I was leaving and he says to me, "where are you going so early?!" .. He had no idea I was pregnant since he slept through the 4:30am announcement.

I did a mix of both.

I had optimistically purchased 2 baby books when we started trying, and found a congratulations baby card. My plan was to have them waiting when he got home from work to surprise him.

What actually happened was I tested around 4:30am, shakily signed the card, and shoved both in his face and told him to wake up.

I put the positive pregnancy test in a fancy red box, tied with a red satin bow, with a note inside that said "You're going to be a daddy." I handed the gift box to him and said it's an early Christmas present (Sept 2012). He was so happy and said "Oh wow, you got me a watch didn't you? I can't believe you bought me a watch." (Even before he unwrapped the gift box) He's been eyeing a couple of expensive watches and I had to keep from cracking up, LOL! I said "just open it!!" He was so shocked and emotional, and overjoyed to find the pregnancy test because we had been trying for so long. (5+ years) We both were teary eyed and gave each other a long hug!

Reality for sure! I had always thought when I got pregnant I'd get a little newborn Patriots onesie and have him open it to tell him. In reality, because it was a surprise-- I was mostly just terrified to tell him because I didn't know if he would be happy or not. I was still in a towel after my shower (had peed on the stick pre shower and saw the result right after) and I just walked into the bedroom and woke him up and was like UMMMMMMMMMMMMMM I THINK I'M PREGNANT? MAYBE? BUT I THINK SO? lol to his credit he was way more calm and collected than I was.

The first time we got pregnant, I did the elaborate way of telling him. That pregnancy ended in a m/c, and when I got pregnant again, it was a total surprise at 7:00 in the morning ... I ran from the bathroom & showed him the test!

@Arden: Love that! I might do the proposal reenactment next time around! I've been trying to come up with something brilliant, and that's such a good one.

I tested in the morning before we both left for work. I was in such shock I didn't say anything. He could tell something was up and asked me and I said I was just tired. I wanted to test again to convince myself this was REAL. I took another test at work and then the third after work. Over kill I know but I couldn't believe it. Wen he got home I gave him a tiny box wrapped in red paper and inside was a pacifier that said "I love Daddy"
I recorded it on my cell. He was speechless and justnsmilednand asked really? As soon as I stopped recording is when it really sank in and he jumped up screaming "I'm gonna be a Daddy again"

I got the fantasy option. My DH always says to me that his dad carried a handkerchief and he felt like dads should carry handkerchiefs (weird, but whatever). I had a hankie embroidered with "dad" for whenever the big day came. I got my BFP on valentines day so it was fun to give it to him then!

@MrsRoo: Thank you. A daddy book is perfect! I wish I would of had time to buy a daddy book and include that in the gift box.

@Pepper: Thank you. I was able to keep it a surprise because DH was not home that morning when I tested. If he were home, I probably would have told him immediately too or he would have heard it through screams and shouts of joy and disbelief.

@twodoghouse: I actually think that is a great story! Not super planned but so genuine, sweet, and happy!
