Definitely a reality. I'd have loved to have given him a sports onesie or something, but I just *knew* we were pregnant before we went on our big vaca. I tested - no dice. So we went on and enjoyed our vacation, but I just KNEW. By Wednesday of our week-long trip, he caught me looking at tests at the store and begged me to wait until we got back to our state. Well, by Friday I couldn't hold off anymore, and got my BFP while he was out in the hot tub with friends. I had to call him in all nonchalant and sneak him into the bathroom, where we hugged and cried and then had to go join everyone else like nothing was up! Ha! We had lots of fun smirking at one another on the flight home, though.

I wouldn't say it was the fantasy reveal but it was kind of fun I'd been away for work and got home late, and he had to get up super early the next day when I tested (he didn't know I'd be testing). When he got home from work that night I was telling him about my work trip and he told me I looked pretty in the pic I'd sent him from it...I said "would you say I was *glowing*?!" It took him about 10 seconds to get it and then I showed him the stick

I never even thought about planning something. We got pregnant on the 2nd try and he was with me when I tested. It was 6 days before my period, but I just knew, and he swore that he knew as well, so we did it together. We're both terrible at surprises, anyway.

It was a surprise pregnancy for sure lol I took the test one morning while he was still sleeping; after trying my best not to pass out, I finished getting ready for work, told him goodbye & went to purchase more tests. Upon finding that all were positive, I began planning how I was going to tell him. I thought of making him a card but changed my mind. Then I decided that I would go after work to buy What To Expect When You're Expecting & My Guys Can Swim! Leave them in the coffee table with the positive test & see if he noticed. Our closest book store didn't have My Guys Can Swim! so I decided I'd still stick to the plan with WTEWYE; buuutttt we ended up meeting for dinner before heading home & I couldn't wait to tell him, so instead I kinda just blurted it out over dinner & tried to avoid making a scene with my crying in the middle of the restaurant lol

I took the test when he was already at work. I waited for him to come home and said "I have to show you something..." and handed him the tests. He didn't know I was testing that day, and it was out first month NTNP so it was a bit of a shock! In my head I imagined doing something bigger, but I was so nervous and just wanted him to know! Longest day ever waiting for him to get home.

Mine was reality for sure. Our LO was a surprise of the best kind, but a surprise nonetheless. I never have a normal cycle and one night while cleaning out my bathroom I found a test and it got me thinking that it had a been a while since I spotted (never got a real AF)...so I thought why not, one less thing to go back in the cabinet.

And it was positive....so I walked out of the bathroom with my mouth literally wide open. Sat down next to DH and still said nothing, and just gave the stick to him. So romantic, huh?

Reality, we were camping, and I was late, stopped to pick up tests and POAS in the campground bathroom first thing in the morning. Dh was in the men's bathroom so when he came out I just handed him the stick crying, saying "there's two lines" over and over. Dh wasn't excited as he thought HPT s were like opk s and that the test line had to be darker than the control.....so I had to explain that to him first, then he was excited.

The first time we actually had a technician at the house fixing our alarm, I tested while he was there (WHY!?) so I had to wait for him to leave.. when he left DH went outside on the phone with his dad and started raking.. I creeped on him out the window until he hung up and I just ran outside yelling "I'M PREEEEGGNNAAAANNNNNTTTT!!!" and jumped on him.

The second time I tested while DH was out fishing, so I went grocery shopping and picked up one of those "baby on board" signs. I knew he'd get in the shower as soon as he walked in the house, so I suction cupped the sign to the shower wall. He was in the shower for a long time before he noticed it, I was waiting outside the bathroom door and I heard him yelling "ARE YOU SERIOUS?!" IS THIS FOREAL!?" while getting out of the shower, he ran out dripping wet, buck naked & hugged me screaming "IT'S FOREAL ISN'T IT? THIS IS FOREAL?!"

Mine definitely was the "reality" version lol.

I was just so shocked. I thought maybe I was hallucinating or I had messed up the test or something. I immediately woke up my husband to show it to him to make sure he was seeing what I seeing.

I don't really regret it. After all our trouble TTC I kinda thought when we did get our BFP it would be more like a "finally" moment rather than an excited one. I'm happy that it turned out to be such a surprise.

Both times it was such a shock I just threw the test in their face and commenced freaking out.

I've gotten positives 3 times (2 mc's)... The first 2 I just kind of told him right away out of shock because they happened faster than expected. This pregnancy, we'd been trying for 6+ months and DH actually pulled a rare all nighter at work the morning I tested... I knew at 5am, but wanted to wait to tell him in person. I definitely couldn't wait, and ended up texting him around 9. We were both (cautiously) very excited!! Sometimes the best planning goes out the window and reality makes for sweeter & more memorable moments!

With our first I just walked downstairs and said, "Don't freak out, but we're going to have a baby" and showed him the stick. He wasn't sure about having kids but he was happy and gave me a big hug. I, on the other hand was freaked out and shaking!

The second one I kept telling him I felt like I was pregnant, but he didn't want to test since he thought my periods were just being wonky and we should give it another week. So I ended up testing while he was at work. I sent him an email just with mundane everyday stuff like remember to pick up fog food, etc and then told him to pick up LO from daycare but to be careful since the roads were bad and I'll need him around to help with the new baby(yep). He got what I meant right away!

Ha! I love this thread. Makes me feel better! I've only ever gotten one BFP (this past August, ended in MC), but I had dreamt up lots of plans of how to tell my husband. Anyway, my in-laws (literally his entire family) were staying at our house, and I was so fed up because I was 4 days late and had only seen BFNs so far. So, I snuck a test into our bathroom (yes, the only one in our house) and POAS while everyone was there. Positive. Then, I went and bought more under the guise of "Sunday afternoon errands." More positives. Finally, when they all left, I just told him to come and look at something. I was standing in the kitchen with a test in each hand. He said "WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?" followed by lots of laughing and crying and hugging. Maybe next time, I can be a little more creative.

Aw! All these stories are so sweet! Mine was mixed. I planned on having a friend do a photo shoot ("for a school project" she's an art teacher) with me surprising DH with baby TOMS shoes. I really wanted to capture the look on his face, but when I got my BFP I realized I couldn't wait. To comprise with my dreams I decided to put the stick in the shoe box and hand it to him when I brought him coffee in bed. He had a beautiful smile on his face when he finally saw the test and he grabbed me and hugged me.

    So thankful

My first reveal was sorta planned out... once when shopping for a shower gift at Old Navy, I stumbled across the *perfect* onesie on sale for $5... it had a vintage-style surfing logo with the name of the town where I grew up. DH loves to surf, so I had to buy it when I saw it. Anyway, DH was at the gym when I tested, so I was forced to wait for him... in the meantime, I wrapped up the onesie with the digital test. I will never forget the look on his face when he opened it! Unfortunately I ended up miscarrying that time.

The second time around, I just showed him the test and he was really hesitant/nervous to get excited, so it was very anti-climatic. If I had to do it over again, I'd have waited until I was further along to tell him the 2nd time around (after betas), and then done something fun to tell him. At least the 2nd time, (which resulted in DD), I did do a surprise reveal for my parents after strong betas.

My DD did still wear the surfing onesie and she looked adorable in it!

I guess more of the fantasy version? The day I got my BFP, DH had already left for work in the morning. I don't know how, but I stayed quiet the whole day because I didn't want to tell him over the phone. I went to Target during my lunch hour and bought a jar of Prego and a bib that said Daddy loves me to give him as a gift that evening. But then he was late getting home from work and I had to wait until after we got back from dinner with friends at 9:30 p.m. to give him the gift! He totally didn't understand the Prego, which is what he opened first, and asked if I was making him lasagna. LOL! Then when he saw the bib he understood I was pregnant, but still thought he was also getting lasagna.

@sunshineandsushi: hahaha I literally just lolled at the lasagne thing, I mean as if he was still thinking about lasagne!

Lve reading all of these! I'm hoping to get a picture of a 5 week old embryo (I don't test early) up on my phone and tell him 'this is what your baby looks like right now' I like it because it doesn't take too much preparation, I'd hate to have a onesie lying around for months whilst I was struggling with ttc.
