I grin and count down the minutes. Just kidding. My in-laws are great and because they live so close to us (20 minutes), we see them often but for short periods of time. Good luck!

Usually BIL comes along with them and helps with entertaining (thank goodness for him)! Sometimes she says things that are not so nice, and I'm usually shocked and left standing there like an idiot and I try to think of a comeback but end up not saying anything at all because I don't want any drama.

So I busy myself with cooking! So far it's worked =) When it's summer, she goes out to the yard and weeds or looks around. Fine with me. During winter, it's tricky but we usually visit them instead.

My MIL *loves* shopping (its her only hobby, really), so whenever she comes, we go shopping nonstop. We also go to dinner, go see stuff that’s local to us but not to her (like, ferry ride out to an island and have lunch out there, go walk on the coast, see sights, etc.).

We also watch a lot of old movies and law and order marathons together, with popcorn

Ugh, I hate having MIL visit or visiting her. When we visit her she always takes us along on her errands, and sometimes we'll go see other friends and family in the area. When she visits us she usually wants to do some sort of home improvement project whether we are ready for one or not!
