Is being told you don't look pregnant when you are......lol
We all know IF can do a number on you, but I actually got kind of upset today when a few friends at the beach said I didn't look pregnant...granted I'm 15weeks and I know they were just being kind, but funny how my emotions reacted......

I get it! I thankfully didn't deal with infertility but I have hyperemesis and even now at 24 weeks I get comments like this frequently depending on what I am wearing. Around 12 weeks when we stated telling people it often stated because people would come up to me and tell me how great I looked and ask what my "secret" was. When you're trying so hard to grow a healthy baby its hard to be congratulated on losing a bunch of weight.

@Cole: I am not "not" showing by any means but YES! THAT is exactly it ...hearing that I think made me think ohh man is the baby not growing...blah blah....lol

I haven't gone through IF so I'm sure the comments don't affect me in exactly the same way. It's hard to hear though, at 16 weeks, that I don't look pregnant at all. I've been sick for months and I'm still not up to my pre-preg weight, but I'm definitely getting bigger and I feel like I deserve my little bump! It's hard to hear people not acknowledge it and of course it makes me a little worried about baby even though my Dr isn't. My belly is definitely not what it was pre-pregnancy, so if I don't look pregnant... I must just look fat? Ugh.

Didn't have IF but when people told me I didn't look pregnant I did get annoyed. It just made me feel like they just thought I looked fat lol or that I was going through all this back pain and other stuff only to not be validated. Maybe it's crazy but I'm pregnant damn it!

Thanks ladies might not even be the IF journey, but the fact that we/I am cooking a baby and working hard and the "bump" is my baby...lol until I can hold it so I cherish it!!!!!!!

@FaithFertility: Thanks! I'm actually feeling much better and now I think I'm eating everything. My belly will probably start to get much more noticeable in the next few weeks

I didn't have IF but I would get really annoyed when people would say I didn't even look pregnant! Especially when I was growing out of all of my regular clothes it made me feel like what, do I just look fat?! I really do think that most people mean it as a compliment though.

I didn't deal with IF but I got really annoyed when one of my good friends told me I didn't look pregnant, just chubby! I was around 14-15 weeks and I just sorta laughed it off but it did hurt my feelings a little.

It sucks especially when you are excited about your little bump! The worst for me was "oh you're so little" at the end of pregnancy when I had gained 30 lbs, felt like a whale, and felt self conscious about carrying a small baby.

It's okay there's a lady that always says she forgets I'm pregnant because it looks like I've lost weight... yea I've lost weight but I look like I'm smuggling half a watermelon under my shirt. All I can think is "wow, how huge did I look before??" Lol

Totally get this. I didn't have IF but I'll be 20 weeks tomorrow and I am still getting comments like 'you would never know you are pregnant' and 'you defo don't look pregnant' are these people crazy or just trying to be nice? It makes me feel paranoid and desperate for that big round pregnant belly.

I think people are trying to be nice when they say that - although I can see where it would bug somebody, especially when you feel heavier, since it's like, "oh, if I don't look pregnant you must think I'm this chubby" - I seem to get the opposite end of the spectrum, "Have they checked for twins?" "You look 20 weeks, not 15!" WHAT THE HECK, PEOPLE!?! Just say "congratulations, you look great!" and move on!!!!!!

I was told yesterday " oh rant you cute. You are finally out of the looking fat stage" .......... By another pregnant friend!!!!!

It's okay! I'm 17 weeks and still don't really LOOK pregnant. It's my 1st so the bump is small and I don't really wear tight clothes to make it stand out either so sometimes you can barely tell!

I totally felt that way last time! I lost a lot of weight during the first half of pregnancy, and I was always worrying that I wasn't giving my babe everything she needed. So stressful! I read on a blog post somewhere that you should only ever say, "You look beautiful." Or other positive things that are hard to take wrong.
