I got it for the first time in my life while I was pregnant. I'm glad I did, the lowered immune system in pregnant women wasn't something I wanted to take a chance with.

I got it because it was like the number one thing my doctor told me I absolutely HAD to do - and she is super laid back about almost everything else, so to me that meant it was a real must-do. I did specify to the pharmacist that I was pregnant and she gave me a particular version (I believe it's the mercury-free version some PPs mentioned). My doc did tell me to get the shot, not the one that is like a nasal spray. I think if you make sure the provider giving you the shot knows you're pregnant you can make sure you get the safest option.

I got it but I always get a flu shot, so it's no big deal to me.

I begrudgingly got the flu shot for the first time about a month ago at my OB Gyn's office. I'd never gotten it before. Am I worried about the possible side effects? Yes. Will I be getting it next year? Probably not. Did I feel ill 1.5 days after I got it? Yes.

FYI: I got my flu shot today. I got the thimersol-free version that contains no mercury so that eased some of my anxiety about it. Cheers to being and staying healthy!!!!!
