Hello ladies. I'm curious to know if any of you had both a girl and a boy and if those pregnancies symptoms were similar or one more difficult than the other. I hope my question makes sense. I have two boys and those pregnancies were so easy. Hardly any symptoms. However, this time around I'm feeling terrible. My hair is horrible. My face is full of acne and I'm sick with heartburn and nausea. I'm only 12 weeks along. Anyway, everyone tells me that means it's a girl. I want to see how true that is.

I have a girl and a boy and my two pregnancies were almost identical as far as symptoms. Very little morning sickness. Generally feeling normal. I thought for sure I was having another girl the second time around but nope!

@kodybear: that's interesting. I know I shouldn't trust those old wives tales. It seems like everyone I've come into contact with swears I'm having a girl now.

I had all of your symptoms with both of my boys! But then again, basically every single old wives tale prediction was wrong for me both times.

I had many more complications, and more severe symptoms illness wise with DS, but was in more physical pain with DD.

My pregnancies were a lot harder with my girls than my son. More morning sickness throughout the entire pregnancy, horrible skin (which hasn't gotten better at 13 months pp), and I carried them different. I had a basketball belly with my son and I didn't with my girls, just looked wider.

Have a girl and a boy on the way. More morning sickness, nausea, and heartburn throughout and bad skin with DD. But better hair and boobs.
With DS, I've had better skin and much less heartburn. -
Mine were completely opposite for DS and DD. My pregnancy was super easy with DS, no morning sickness or anything like that. With DD I was so sick, horrible skin and hair... The works. But I don't know if it was because I was chasing around a 15 month old at the same time???
With my next baby, I don't want to read into the symptoms too much as I know it could go either way.

I have a girl and boy. My girl pregnancy was a breeze. My boy pregnancy was a lot harder, more nausea, more back pain, worse skin.

I have a girl & a boy and am pregnant now with #3 (unknown gender right now). I was more nauseous with my DD and my midwife said some women get sicker with each pregnancy but you can generally be sicker when carrying a girl because of more hormones. With this pregnancy I was even more nauseous but we don't know yet what this baby is!

I have a boy and a girl - they were pretty much identical, including weight gain

I had a boy first and then a girl. The most notable difference was MUCH more libido with the boy
and I gained more weight with the girl. Other than that, the pregnancies were pretty similar.

I have a boy and had a super easy pregnancy with him. i"m currently pregnant with a girl and this pregnancy has not been so kind. For me, the old wive's tale rings absolutely true. HOWEVER, my sister has 2 boys and had completely opposite pregnancies - easy first one, incredibly difficult second one.

The wives tale applied in my case ! LO1 = boy, easiest pregnancy ever, never had morning sickness, and my skin was perfect. This time it's a girl and I was sick from 6 to 16 weeks and had terrible big breakouts. Luckily from 16 wks on they've been about the same.

I was very sick with both my girl and my boy. More serious complications with my girl though (bleeding, pre term contractions, etc). Pretty smooth sailing (so far!) with my boy.

My friend has 1 boy and 2 girls and with the girls she had horrid acne!

I have one of each and my pregnancies were very similar and uneventful!

My pregnancies were like night and day, and I ended up with 2 girls. Everyone assumed I was having a boy since my second was so much easier, but that was not the case!

I have three of a kind and each pregnancy came with different symptoms.

I have a boy and a girl, my boy pregnancy was easy like yours and by daughter was exactly as you describe, nausea, felt awful all the time, horrible hair, nails and most of all SKIN. My vote is you are having a girl.

DS: MS was worse with DD, but was longer lasting with DS (major food aversions all the way through). Face broke out a lot, but hair looked great. Boobs did not change in size.
DD: MS was bad, but lasted a normal amount of time. Bad lower back (sciatic?) pain, tons of discharge, lots of gas, face looks okay but hair is a frizzy mess no matter what I do. Porn star (for me) boobs pretty much right away. Bad indigestion. WAY more hormonal this time...I was pretty even keel with DS but I cry at the drop of a hat this time, and my temper is very easily ignited.

I had a girl and am pregnant with a boy and I gotta say, night and day. Her pregnancy was hard. I had HG and severe heartburn. Mostly though I think the HG is what did me in. This pregnancy, with a boy, its almost like I'm not even pregnant! I mean, sure I have the belly and the difficulties that come with that and am starting to get hip pain. I am also more tired but I think chasing around a toddler is really to blame for that. I am so greatful that the two pregnancies aren't switched.

I have a girl and am currently pregnant with a boy. My two pregnancies have been different, but I doubt it's really caused by the sex of the babies.
With DD I was sick until around 13 weeks, with DS I was sick about 4 weeks longer. Another difference is I started feeling DD kick at around 16 weeks, but I'm 21 weeks with DS and I still barely and rarely feel him. Heartburn and aches and pains are around the same.

Still pregnant with the boy but in terms of the 1st trimester symptoms I was WAY more nauseous with my girl. This pregnancy overall has been way more uncomfortable though. But I blame that on other health issues combined with this being the second pregnancy.

I know this thread was about having one of each, but I had two girls and my symptoms were completely opposite! I was so hopeful I was having a boy the 2nd time around... nope

Girl - horrible!! very very sick until ~20 weeks. vomited multiple times a day, always nauseous.
Boy - pretty easy, vomited once my entire pregnancy.
LO3 - in between, definitely worse than being pregnant with DS, but not as severe as DD. The tech and OB guessed girl at 12 weeks and I will know for sure in a couple more weeks.
My sis also had a difficult pregnancy with her daughter and easier one with her son.

I have two boys and they were sooo different!
My first was pretty easy easy. Easy pregnancy and easy birth.
My second was terrible terrible terrible. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong - well that's how I felt.

I was nauseous all day long for about 18 weeks with DD, and barely ever felt nauseous with DS. DS I had food aversions, DD I actually craved food that I didn't eat, and needed sweets all the time. The main difference was I carried them differently.
and I gained more weight with the girl. Other than that, the pregnancies were pretty similar.
