I saw this morning that the police officer/school officer involved in the incident was fired. It got me thinking...it almost feels like the media is persecuting and profiling cops now to an extent. And maybe not just cops...maybe any non-minority. Why are we so quick to jump to conclusions and judge people...accusing THEM of jumping to conclusions and judging people?! We seem to be doing it ourselves...is it hypocritical?

If you dont fit the minority profile, and do anything that could be perceived as negative towards a minority group - are you even given a fair chance anymore?

I understand the rationale and concern that the exact opposite is true with police officers (i.e. they are prosecuted at very low rates) but does that mean the media is justified in basically doing the exact opposite to them? Are we turning to a way of thinking where we in society profile police officers and assume they are wrong first...just as some of these "majority" police officers are accused of doing to minorities?

I cant help but think it is just SO wrong for these movements that take place by so many people who have no real reality of the facts. I mean, the incident happened a mere days ago - I highly doubt even the direct authorities involved have sorted out what happened. Yet the media and so many people in this country have decided this man is guilty. (he very well may be...I truthfully have no idea and am 100% ok admitting it). How can an intelligent person call for someone to lose their job on social media or the media without doing their due diligence...it just seems so reckless...

Is it fair? Do you think the media should get as involved as it does? Do you think they execute ethical journalism when they are reporting "facts" so early in cases?

Sorry, I'm rambling a bit - and truthfully am not intending to start a debate about the events (because I dont think any of us truthfully know the "real" story) - more a discussion of the media's behavior and these social "movements" by people with limited knowledge of the facts!
