I think I might be developing an umbilical hernia I have a bump developing right next to by belly button. Has anyone else had one in pregnancy?
Will it go away on it's own, or did you need some sort of intervention after delivery?

I had done with my 2nd pregnancy. I thought it was just my belly button being pushed out but after he was born I realized it wasn't right as it never went back in. I could push it back in but it would come right back out. I went to the dr who confirmed an umbilical hernia. Ended up having surgery to get it fixed. Overall wasn't a big deal - however I could not lift anything heavier than 10 ibs for 6 weeks - which meant not lifting my baby. That was hard. My mother-in-law came to visit during that time and would lift him out of the crib, etc and hand him to me. This allowed me to still nurse and all. I was still able to be up and moving around quite a lot. I had the surgery when he was 9 months old. HTH

I had one, started noticing tenderness and s bulge just above my belly button at about 18 weeks. It got pretty big, although less uncomfortable after about a month. Stayed mostly the same for the rest of my pregnancy. I was worried I'd need surgery. But it wasn't necessary, it went relatively back to normal by a week or so postpartum. The skin where it was is still loose, but no more hernia.
