no...and no. i like them but i wouldn't want to stay for an extended period of time without the hubs around. that's great that you like yours enough to want to visit them without your DH!

I probably wouldn't, but that is because my inlaws don't allow our dog in their home, and when I go to our hometown I always bring our dog, so I stay with my parents. I refuse to leave the dog with my parents and stay elsewhere, because its rude!

My in laws live close enough that we don't stay over. But I do hang out with my MIL without my hubby sometimes. We do girly things that he wouldn't like. We've been to Jewish women's functions and took an art class together. I love my MIL!

Yes. I'm really close to both of my in-laws, especially MIL. My relationship with my own mom is pretty rocky, so I appreciate having another "mom figure" to talk to/spend time with. I've stayed with them a number of times when DH was out of town. It doesn't feel weird or awkward, but I get how some people would feel that way about their in-laws because DH definitely would NOT stay with my parents without me!

Depends how long my husband is gone. I love my in-laws and would feel comfortable staying with them but at the end of the day, it's still not my home so it wouldn't be as comfortable. I would, however, have no issues if they came stayed with me while he was gone

My inlaws live pretty close, so I don't think there would be a reason why I would need to stay there without DH. I like them, but I honestly probably wouldn't stay without him either.

My inlaws live 20 min away so we don't have overnight stays with them. We do spend holidays/wknds with them up north in their first house, but hubby is always with me.

I'm close with the inlaws (we regularly exchange phone calls) and I visit with them (I work in our hometown) and have dinners with them sans DH all the time. In my mind, they're just the American versions of my Korean parents

I would stay with my in-laws (especially MIL - love her!), but since they live 3000 miles away, I don't know why I'd be going alone without my husband. But if the situation arose, I would go alone with LO.

Mine live very far away, so it's unlikely I would ever stay with them w/out my husband, though I would be open to it. I mean, I wouldn't be thrilled, but it's something I would do for my children since I think it's important for them to have a relationship with both sets of grandparents.

I never have, but I'd totally be up for staying with my FIL and SMIL! They're awesome (and remind me of my own parents) AND they have a lake house, so yes please!

I definitely would NOT stay with my MIL though. She drives me crazy.

First time I ever met my in-laws was before we were married and I stayed at their hosue w/o DH.

No. Way. They're just... Different.. I don't feel comfortable in their house and they act uncomfortable in mine. Also, they live 12 hours away from us.
