Bees tell me it's not too early to worry. I had my first big girl job interview for a staff attorney position on Wednesday. It was 6hrs long with 8 different attorneys. I feel it went GREAT. It's a new area of law that I obviously don't know anything about, but they were like we'll train you etc. Okay, so at the end they hugged me, and said they just need to check my references and my christmas will be merry. Now, that doesn't mean you got the job of course, but I know she called one reference yesterday who apparently is out of the office until 2013! Okay, sooo if they're going to make my christmas "merry," wouldnt they call me BEFORE xmas?? If I don't hear anything today, does it mean I didn't get it?? I'm sure my references will check out positively, but I'm just nervous all the same!

They probably didn't think about themselves not being in office over Christmas, or other people being out. I'm going to guess that it was an oversight. If everything went that well, and they hugged you, I'd treat that as a very good thing!

Sounds like it went great! I wouldn't be too discouraged if you don't hear today though, a lot of ppl take time off & they may not have been able to finish with your references. good luck!

My husband had the same issue with his job! he interviewed in November and the offer didn't come til January but got lots of "hints" before Christmas. BUT then the office shut down Christmas Eve-Jan 2 and there is NOBODY IN. And a lot of people take off the week before or the week back. If ONE person is on vacation early, it can really throw off the whole system! I would take the hint as a good thing, though!!!! Offices are just NOT efficient around the holidays!!!!

I wouldn't worry! It sounds like you got it anyway...DH just had an interview at the beginning of the month for over 6 hours with a bunch of different people and it took them over a week to get back to him. The offer letter was dated for 2 days after the interview though. He got the job

I GOT THE JOB TODAY!!!!! Thanks everyone for the good luck! I'm a federal govt staff attorney now. First job out of law school, and I feel so very lucky and blessed!
