Yes people asked - and I would laugh-snort and say, "that's kind of nosy!" Or "that's kinda rude!"....seemed like I was joking but totally called them out on it.

I don't think anyone asked us that. We were in our late twenties and newly weds.... I think it was obvious.

My first pregnancy before I miscarried my grandma did the math wrong and asked if I got pregnant before I was married though. I didn't .... we waited until two months after the wedding.

We didn't get this question that often which surprised me because although we were maried, we only had been for a couple of months and are pretty young. But, I was pretty vocal about TTC soost people knew we were trying .

yes! we were only married 3 months when we got pregnant, we had started trying the night of the wedding. people constantly asked, i was floored! my SIL even was so rude as to ask again AFTER DS was born! i couldn't believe it.

People always asked, but that's bc we got pregnant 5 months after we got married so I'm sure it was on everyone's minds! I was really surprised when I got asked so much the 2nd time around though esp since my two little ones are spaced a very normal 2 years 2 months apart, but more often than not it was a very hesitant, gentle way of asking so I didn't mind it too much. I think if the approach was different I would've minded more!

Yes got asked this along with so many other rude questions...is it twins...you're pretty big...are you having a vaginal birth...what goes thru people's heads!?!

My sisters get asked this for me! Mainly, it's are they trying again--since we lost our daughter at 20 wks. One of my sisters always quips back that yes and we are enjoying ourselves. That makes them stop asking questions.

When I was pregnant with my twins I got that all the time. It's kind of awkward when people at the grocery store ask you things like that I never knew how to answer. Do random strangers need to know that I had adopted because I was having trouble getting pregnant then immediately got pregnant with twins?

When we got pregnant with our fourth everyone thought we were crazy so she must have been an accident. She was not.

My real estate agent asked me this the other day! So inappropriate.

No one ever asked us, but it was pretty clear to everyone that we were going to try right after we got married- Emma was born 10 months to the day of our wedding!

DH however was a doink and when he found out an old friend was also expecting a little girl he asked if the pregnancy was planned on his facebook wall! I don't think men understand that this is rude because when I called him on how wildly inappropriate that was he thought it was a totally valid question.

We got asked this by almost everyone - to be fair, I'd been telling people we were holding off for longer because I didn't want to get bombarded with TTC questions. But still. I would never ask anyone that!! Something about pregnancy makes people say, ask, and act in the weirdest ways.

I've only had 1 person ask- which was more than I expected! We've been married 18 months and are 34 and 38, what makes you think this was an accident?!?

I've had a lot of people ask me this! Mostly strangers. We've been married 3.5 years, it's SO RUDE. I just kind of look at them like, "um, are you stupid?" because that question does not deserve an answer. All my friends knew we were trying, and after a mc, our families figured it was planned, too.

No one has really asked us this yet, but probably because my DH told just about everyone we were going to start trying after we got back from our Napa/Sonoma trip in September.

@lemondrop: Same here. My MIL kept telling people: "They've been married for FOUR YEARS! About time they had a baby!" I always feel insulted when she says it, A) because I don't think 4 years is that long of a time to be married before having kids (I'm 26 now), and B) what if we had been trying for 4 years and had a hard time getting pregnant? That wasn't the case this time, but how does anyone know that? So rude.

Woah, I would NEVER dare ask the question. I've wondered, certainly, but never. Never!

I got asked a lot with our second child, because they are less than 2 years apart. And we did get pregnant the week we started trying, so it's not like we had told people that we were ready.
