I read somewhere that the 6 week growth spurt is the growth spurt from hell...
H is 6 wks on Tues and I think I'm seeing signs! She wants to nurse constantly, as of today, won't take a good nap, and screams bloody murder when there's not a boob in her mouth.
DH is away at work for a few weeks, so I'm trying to prepare myself that this could be tough by myself!

Ours was tough (she'll be 7 weeks Monday and it's now starting to slow down). BUT the great news is that for the most part it didn't affect her night time sleep. She was a hungry bear all day but still did well at night so don't lose heart! You'll get through it!

@MamaMoose: fantastic news about the sleep! That's actually why I was shocked that all this happened today bc she slept normally last night (wakes every 3 hrs)...Just sucks that I can't even put a load of laundry in bc she's starving!

It was miserable! But it only lasted a few days for us. She ate constantly and would only sleep in my arms during the day. Night sleep wasn't affected. I just camped out on the couch for 3-4 days and caught up on chores later

So far it was!!! It was ridiculous. I felt like a feeding machine. Unfortunately for us it did affect his sleep too =\ Hopefully H will still sleep normally!

For us the 4 month sleep regression was even worst. She went from sleeping thru the night to waking up every 2 hours. At 7 months, we have finally been able to sleep train LO.

I don't know if I would say worst but I noticed it because I was home with her. The first four weeks were crazy. Then I finally felt like I kinda had the hang of it and then bam it got crazy again.

4 month sleep regression has been the hardest so far! Other growth spurts I just spent a ton of time in the glider. This sleep regression I'm a zombie! She may be getting back on track now, I hope!!!

My lo has been eating more during the day and sleeping WAY more at night. I hope all our growth spurts mean lo is more sleepy lol

While 6 weeks wasn't great, 4 months was worse for us since he went on several nursing strikes. I would rather have him nursing all the time than be stressed over not nursing at all.
At 6 weeks we were still figuring nursing out, so the more practice, the better. I was still on leave, so it was my only job, but it got easier by 8 weeks. 4 months was also hard since I was back to work and not getting much sleep.

I think that the 4 months sleep regression killed me more than the 6 week growth spurt. She was a super nurser though and never gave me chapped or sore nipples, and I HATE being tired.

It was bad because we had no idea what to do. At least with the other ones, we were a little more experienced and could figure out how to get through it.

Oy it's foggy but I remember the round-the-clock nursing and less than 15-30 minute naps for a solid week (which felt like forever). We would rock her for 30-40 minutes only to put her down and have it start all over again, and were both zombies.

Whatever LO is going through now at 8 weeks puts the 6 week growth spurt to shame. Oh my!
I always read that weeks 6-8 are the hardest. I think it prepares you for the upcoming week...week 6-hard; week 7-harder; week 8-hardest. At least it proves true for us

@MarieJ: is she just nursing/crying? Is her sleep messed up? At the last growth spurt, H would only sleep for like 30 mins at a time. But DH and I were both here so we had teamwork going so the other could sleep...But he'll be gone weeks 6-8 so I'm getting scared! I am totally alone- no family or anything here!

I don't remember 6 weeks being tough. I think teething has been the roughest thing so far and it hasn't been that bad. At 6 weeks LO was sleeping long stretches.

We went through a 3 week growth spurt that was harder than the 6 week. The growth spurts seem to be getting easier. I'm scared of the 4 month sleep regression that everyone is mentioning.

I haven't noticed any changes in behavior during any growth spurts with DD, she is 4 months old.
With DS however, he was greatly affected by each one!
