We have our first trimester screen today ... so excited to see baby! I tried asking the receptionist about the actual scan without any good answer: was your NT scan done transvaginally or abdominally? Not that it really matters, as our first u/s was done with the *magical vagina wand*, but I wasn't sure if I needed to shave my legs!!

Mine was done with both! They started on my belly but then transvagically then back to belly, basiaclly due to baby's position.

Mine only first tri scan was 10 weeks and abdominal.

Mine was completely abdominal. The only trans-vaginal ultrasound I ever had was my initial dating scan.

Mine was done abdominally at 12.5 weeks. I only got the magical vagina wand (ps-this made me lol!) once, at 8 weeks, and they actually did the abdominal then as well.

I had one at 9 weeks and it was abdominal! I shaved my legs for nothing that day!

@Ash: I had a prenatal appointment two weeks ago, which I was told would be a pelvic exam ... I totally shaved for nothing, too!

@VEGMAMA: I feel like anymore I don't know when they'll be going "down under" so I have to always play it safe. But then I feel like I wasted my time when I shave for nothin.

Mine was abdominal but I think my placenta looked low so they used vaj wand for that.

I had an 8 week transvag scan and a 12 week abdominal. I am pretty sure the first was just for confirmation of pregnancy and the second was the NT scan but they never said specifically what they were for.

We had the scan, and it was done abdominally. I still shaved, but it was like an extra treat for my hubby!
The scan was so cool. I was surprised how long it was, and that we could see baby moving all around. So amazing!
