If you've seen any of my photo updates you can see that I'm not exactly able to see my lady bits at this point very easily lol Upkeep will be a lot easier with a good wax but it's been years since I've had one and never while pregnant.
Please share your knowledge!

My bff's husband maintained her lady bits for her...not sure I would trust my husband with a razor.

I'm still getting brazilians once a month. I'm 28 weeks along. And i keep making an appt to get it done! So it's not that bad. I don't find that i'm a lot more sensitive. I was in the very beginning and now it's no big deal. Plus, the first couple waxes always hurt the most b/c you have the most hair.
The first time you get it done will smart, no lie. Swipe with some kind of toner regularly (or use Finipil) to keep the ingrowns away. But the second time you do it? Oh man, 10x easier.
Seriously, i can barely see down there right now and it's just nice to not have to mess around with it.

@blackbird: lol I'm glad it's not awful. I've had one done a long time ago but I keep hearing all this "it's so much more sensitive down there are you crazy" business and I'm just trying to make sure I won't be walking weird for a week or something lol

Nah it's not so bad. I mean, the first time definitely smarts because there's more hair. I was a little jumpier in the beginning but nothing horrendous. I like my aesthetician, too.
OOOO she gives me this amazing oil to slather on (because sometimes you are sticky afterwards and i find that chafes more than anything). It's Aveda's calming oil. Just grease up your lady parts and your underwear won't rub it or anything, because that is definitely irritating.
she did say that some women can't go up until they are full term b/c it gets too sensitive (and some women get engorged labia) but i haven't had issues. although for your situation, a regular bikini wax is probably a BIG help!

I did it with my first pregnancy in my last month, and plan to do it again! It actually felt the same as it would pre-prego. They had me lay on my side, and if I had to lay on my back it was really quick.

@.twist.: Honestly it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be in my opinion.

i had it done a couple months before my due date and planned on doing it again closer to the due date but got lazy. i didn't find that i was more sensitive...actually i went to a place that puts some sort of tonic or something before they apply the wax and it hurt so much less than any other wax i've ever had done!

I posted a related question last week, but to answer your question, yes! I still keep up with my Brazilian waxes since I've been preggers! I just prefer it and my sensitive skin can handle shaving. I won't lie, it hurts more than before pregnancy! But if you're used to having it done, it's not that much more intolerable.
My waxing lady told me the good thing is that the hair grows slower during pregnancy and you know what? It has been true for me! I've been able to stretch out and go longer in between waxings! And I've asked her to wax right around my belly button too, where I've grown a few random stray hairs there since pregnancy!

I'm planning to continue it. So far I only had one since my BFP but it was definitely no worse than the one before. I asked the technician about doing it while pregnant, since I was considering buying a package while TTC, and she said she definitely has people come in throughout pregnancy. I hadn't thought about the back thing though.
@.twist.: I find that the the level of uncomfortable-ness of having a stranger up in my lady parts is worse than the actual pain, and it goes really fast. I much prefer to having to shave frequently-- I just go every 5 weeks or so.

I didn't notice much difference in the pain, and had my last one at 40+4!
I didn't want to have to worry about anything more than baby-related "stuff" post preg (lol like the squirt bottle), so I'm glad I kept up with it right to the end, lol.

I haven't been in a while, and last time I just got a bikini wax cause the Brazilian hurts and I was scared since the area is more sensitive now. I am going to go this weekend, cause I can't see down there enough to shave.

i just got a brazilian at 35 weeks pregnant, and i've been going about every 5-6 weeks throughout the pregnancy. still hurts just the same, just a bit more uncomfortable as most things are during pregnancy! i plan to go right before my due date one last time, it's worth it to just not worry about it.

I think it hurts about the same, although the last one I got at 36 weeks hurt bad. More likely because it had been 7 weeks since my last one. Oops. I scheduled an appt for 2 days after my due date since I think ill go late and want one last clean up. I usually get brazillians but after @shopaholic's thread about them, I think this last one I do ll just be a French bikini so I don't have to deal with growing out hairs in the inner parts but will still feel cleaned up.

I got one at 26 weeks pregnant, and it didn't hurt at all.
But then, I had my baby with no drugs (on purpose), so I might have a higher pain tolerance?
Definitely go for it! I would do your research and read yelp reviews/ask your friends to find someone who is reliably great- not all waxers are created equal, and I do think skill plays a big role in a comfortable Brazillian experience!

I was just thinking about this after my first prenatal appointment! It occurred to me that my lady-parts are going to be examined every few weeks and it was looking unruly at the time...

@sweetchic: lol After my first OB appt I haven't had them in my area but since I'm only a couple weeks from my third trimester I know it's gonna start and I for sure can't see down there anymore and I'm not letting my husband down there with a razor lol
