Oh my goodness, @rubies!! I don't know if I could handle that! I'm so excited for you now, though. It is going to be so much fun to find out when that baby is born!!

But how fun would that be?! Such a nice surprise I was the opposite, didn't want to know but got told anyway. Crazy how these things work!

@Rubies: I'm surprised you haven't heard this story..yes! We were team green, went through the 20 week ultrasound just fine but needed to schedule one more to complete it. Went in at 25 weeks, told the tech we didn't want to know, she turned the screen, we turned out heads, the works. Then I asked how the weight was and she goes, "weight looks good, about the 26th percentile for a GIRL". Oye. I was sad but made the best of it.

@Rubies: My husband is so convinced this one is a boy that he says the same thing. He would have preferred to find out anyway, but is absolutely sure it's a boy.

Enjoy it! Team green is SO FUN (I was team green by choice though). It is not hard to plan to be team green, I actually, seriously don't actually know/understand what you need to know the sex to plan for anyways!

Oh my gosh! @birdofafeather: same! I am too antsy and also such a planner!

I had a 16w u/s (DS measured 17w and my EDD got moved up after) that they were able to clearly see he was a boy. It was so obvious I could even tell as soon as she turned on the u/s machine! HOWEVER, had we not had that u/s I'm not sure we would have been able to find out...at our 20w anatomy scan DS was not having it and the tech said it was very difficult to tell the sex. Luckily we already knew (DH wan't to know...I probably would have been fine team green, but after finding out I don't know if I could do it this time).

LOL! The same thing happened to us! ^_^ LO had his legs crossed good! But the tech was able to get all the scans she needed to do in a timely fashion but she just couldn't see the private parts.

Since we still had about 15 minutes left in my appointment she let me walk outside and go up and down stairs and come back. After that she was able to rescan and finally his legs came apart enough to see it. The tech said "I should have known it was a boy... Only boys give me this much troubles!"

I found out later that our tech was super nice and really went above and beyond to find out if it was a boy or girl for us. A lot of people told me their tech just said oh well and sent them home.

I heard if you do a 3D scan later in your pregnancy, they should be able to tell if it's a boy or girl.

@Rubies: OMG how fun! I can't WAIT until you deliver so that we can all know!!!

@Rubies: At least you're halfway there now, right?! I'd be totally stressed, but it will be so fun seeing your little bub for the first time & getting that surprise at the same time!

I wanted to be Team Green, but DH and my mom (who was in the room) peer pressured me to give in and find out at the anatomy scan. BUT! DD did no cooperate! She not only had her legs crossed by the umbilical cord was between her legs! I thought it was funny, she was already on my side.

I love a cliffhanger! But not for my own baby, I'm not nearly patient enough to wait it out.

I was already excited about your next baby @rubies: but now there's even more to be excited for!

@Rubies: what a great story and way to be team green! When everyone asks you can say "we tried to find out but we couldn't"!!

Your baby must just be very shy!

I think it would be SO fun to not find out, but I'm such a planner that I don't know if I could handle it! Right now, we're talking about finding out but not telling people. We'll see what ends up happening.

Great that you're making lemonade out of lemons I'm going to go team green next time..... but if I didn't want to I don't think I'd be able to wait. I know with my LO I was very impatient so I could start planning! This time I already know I'm going to be planning gender neutral.

I don't know if I could handle it! lol at my NT scan baby didn't cooperate and they couldn't get a good look....I was constantly wondering he or she until the anomaly scan at 19 weeks!

I had to get my anatomy scan done 3 times because our babe was uncooperative, but on the third try we got a split second look. It was barely long enough for the technician to say "I think its a girl", but we took it. 4 months later our little girl arrived!

I would personally have paid for a scan if I were you.. I don't do surprises.
