@sslm: That is awesome!! I was 175 pre pregnancy too. My goal is 150, so I have 23 to go. Although I would be happy with 160, going to try and stick with it till 150.

@sslm: what a fabulous accomplishment! That's a little bit more than a size!

@sslm: @Smurfette: Awesome job lovelies! Woot woot!
@blackbird: I am totally enjoying my celebratory (albeit imaginary) brownie!

Tooting my own horn, 2lbs this week. 21 to go. Toot toot!!

Nice job @smurfette!
My weight loss has plateaued now that i'm back at Crossfit. I guess the rest is going to come off the hard, sweaty way. Except now it's going to be tough to tell because I'm going to be putting muscle back on at the same time.

Can I join the party? I am only nursing at night now, so now that I don't have my supply as an excuse anymore, it's time to officially get back into shape. I'm back to my prepregnancy weight, but that was higher than I'd like to be at, and the saggy belly makes me sad. So I'm hoping to lose about 25lbs the good old fashioned counting calories and exercising way. I just started tracking my calories on myfitnesspal this week. The first few days are always the hardest... momma is hungry!
@Smurfette: Awesome! Toot away!
@blackbird: Umm, I want in on these imaginary brownies. Are you tracking inches? Then you can see you're still making progress even though you're not seeing the number on the scale change as much.

Okay, at 10 weeks pp I finally feel like I'm in a good enough place with DD where I can start to actually focus on weight loss.
I gained ~40-45lbs when pregnant (stopped getting weighed after my 41 week appointment, as the rest were all home visits before DD was born at 42+1). At my six week pp appointment I was down 25 lbs. These last 15-20 lbs don't seem to want to budge though. Oh, and my scale is broken...so, I need to do something about that!
I haven't been able to figure out the scheduling to go back to crossfit yet, but I hope to soon. I've started walking 5km as many times per week as possible, but it's been tricky thanks to the very hot and humid weather
As for diet, am starting to clean it up this week, and hope to be back to paleo/primal (I just can't give up my Greek yogurt!) next week.
@sslm: Great idea for a thread!
pomegranate / 3895 posts
@blackbird: meh....could also be increased muscle mass which will of course lead to increased metabolism and fat loss. I was at a pretty high weight (for me) when I got pregnant, but also at my slimmest in a long time...all thanks to Crossfit. The scale doesn't tell the whole story.

@kiddosc, yeah I should take waist measurements!
@hergreenapples, definitely. I care most about my pants fitting well and not having chub around my middle. But I do think 10 pounds will have to come off for that spare tire to go away! My usual weight is 175, which is high for 5'11", but I was lean and mean and strong

Posting to save this thread - ill be back at 6 weeks PP
I'm 4.5 weeks PP, and gained 50+ lbs during my pregnancy. I'm only down 25 lbs since I had my LO.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@grizz, my final weight was up 60. I dropped 47 by 12 weeks so have faith and give it time easier said than done, I know
papaya / 10473 posts
@blackbird: that's awesome! Even if my weight drops at a snail's pace, I'm looking forward to being cleared to exercise. I miss Zumba and swimming! DH and I are also considering Paleo. I had to cut wheat and dairy for LO anyway! You and @hergreenapples follow a Paleo diet too right?
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@grizz, I'm technically following a primal diet because I include dairy-cheese and grass fee butter. But yes, it's helping a lot as did exercising starting at 6 weeks pp. I felt a lot like myself once I. could work out

@blackbird: And once again we prove to be body doubles....I was 175 pre-pregnancy too! And yes on wanting pants to fit. I ordered new shorts from ON the other day. They arrived on Tuesday and are tight (size 12 tall, which for sure would have been too big pre-pregnancy). And that was the last straw that spurred me into action re: weight loss!
pomegranate / 3895 posts
@grizz: I was very into paleo/primal diet and lifestyle before I got pregnant, and then it all kind of went to hell once morning sickness hit! I got somewhat back on the wagon in the late second tri, but completely fell off again PP. But yes, planning to get back to it now!

@hergreenapples: @blackbird: lol!!! I'm 5'11" and was 170 Pre-pregnancy! Crazy.
I'm on vacation at my parents' house and sticking to points is proving difficult. The weather has also been awful for walking just hoping not to gain at this point.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
Ah this is so bizarre lol. I also bought size 12 old navy jeans
@sslm, maintenance isn't a bad goal for a holiday weekend!!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@sslm: I agree with @blackbird: maintenance is fine when on vacation/away from your normal routine.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@Adira: haha! However you have to do it!
I missed my weigh in this weekend and last week I gained 0.4 lb. Put on my size 10 pants this morning and they are feeling comfortably loose.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@looch: Bummer about the gain, but having comfortable pants is a big WIN!!! That's way more important than the number on the scale! I can't WAIT to fit into my pants again!

I started Weight Watchers officially last week. I was doing Lean Cuisines to start before that. I'm down 4 lbs as of last week's weigh in (Tuesdays). I ate a lot of bad food with the holiday, but I'm hoping that I still lost with the tons of walking we did this weekend. I'm easily 20+ lbs overweight.

@Adira: That is great. I have been bad this week. I am scared for Wednesday. I am just hungry all the time.
@cascademom: That is a great first loss!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@cascademom: Wow, congrats on the weight loss!! 4 lbs to start is AWESOME!
@Smurfette: That's how I feel all the time, haha. I'm always so scared to weigh-in. And now that I'm over being sick, I'm STARVING!!! I'll probably be up next week, haha.
coconut / 8861 posts
@Smurfette: @Adira: Thanks. I was surprised to see it too. Despite the crappy heat, taking LO out in the stroller has been super helpful for the weight loss.

My diet isn't going so well... I just had a second breakfast...

@Adira: One meal isn't going to tank your week unless you let it! You can doooo eeeet!
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
I agree with MsLipgloss! Just acknowledge and move on. Maybe you can have a little less for lunch? Are you super hungry or what?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MsLipGloss: @looch: I'm super hungry!! I just ate my second breakfast and I want MORE!!!! I'm guessing this is my body's way of recovering from those three days where I pretty much didn't eat anything because I was sick, haha.
Luckily the cafe is no longer serving breakfast and it's too early for Fritos.
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
@Adira: Yeah, that's a toughie! You can *safely* do volume eating (that's what I call it when I just feel compelled to eat a lot!) with something like popcorn, carrots with hummus (with the extra bonus of protein), etc. Also, have you been drinking water, or are you dehydrated from being under the weather? Upping your H2o intake can help with the hunger in both the short and long run!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MsLipGloss: Good idea about the water! I'll try drinking some more and see if that helps. I did TRY to stay hydrated while I was sick because I was worried about my supply, but it was hard because even just drinking water made me nauseous! But I'll try guzzling some now and we'll see if that helps!
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@MsLipGloss: are you secretly filming me, because I am currently eating carrot sticks with hummus as my mid morning snack!
coconut / 8861 posts
@Adira: Try gum or water. That helps me control my desire to stuff everything in my facehole all the time. If you're doing weight watchers, you can eat a lot of fruit and veggies as 0 points. If I'm getting really hungry, I eat lots of those.
I did my weekly weigh in (Tuesday). I'm down 2.5 lbs despite having an Al's Beef for dinner and all of last weekend. What's bad is that I'm never sure if it's right to weigh in the morning before eating since I just saw a study where you lose a few pounds at night because you're still burning calories while you sleep. I hope it's correct.
So, in 3 or so weeks time, I'm done 7 lbs or so. Tomorrow while I work from home, I'm going to go to yoga during my lunch break.
coconut / 8861 posts
@Adira: Maybe try those water packets, the sugar free drink mix stuff. That might make water more palatable as you get better.
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
@looch: *mwahahahaha* I'll never tell! But seriously, I was just fantasizing about the carrots and hummus I have in my fridge at home! Full disclosure is that I just at a big ole chocolate chip cookie, and while it tasted good, what I really wanted (as I think about it now) was carrots and hummus! That *sounds* so much better than the junk I just consumed. Ah well, like @Adira, one snack/meal won't ruin my week unless I let it! Annnnnd, our elliptical got delivered today, so I should be able to work off my cookie!
grapefruit / 4278 posts
@cascademom: I think if you weigh under the same conditions, then you can trust that number. I always weigh myself in the morning before I get in the shower. If I weigh myself later in the day I will gain a few pounds... but I figure that's clothes, and water and food.
Does anyone have any suggestions for at home exercise videos, either DVDs or online? DH works late, so I have to put E to bed at night, and then can't leave to go to a gym after that. 30 day shred hurt my back, so I'm looking for some other suggestions. Bonus if it's something I could convince DH to do with me.
grapefruit / 4278 posts
@Adira: cold water always helps to curb my hunger!
@MsLipGloss: I ate crap for breakfast this morning because I didn't get to the grocery store last night and now I feel bad because it's thrown off my calorie rationing for the whole day!
coconut / 8861 posts
@kiddosc: That's good to know. I weigh myself on Tuesday mornings when I get up after at least one bathroom trip before I start my morning routine before LO wakes up.
