We took the front off tonight and are going to try it!

I converted to a toddler bed just before 3. I was hugely pregnant and lifting him out to bring him to the potty at night was difficult. The final straw was when he woke up from a nap and called for me, but I couldn't get my big a*s belly up the stairs fast enough and he peed himself standing up waiting for me to bring him to the potty. He was so upset it broke my heart. I stripped the sheets and took the side off right then.

She'll be three in June and we are just starting to consider it. She's very small for her age and seems happy in the crib, so I'm not in a rush - I'm worried she will be a wanderer once she has freedom to get in and out of bed.

He's 31 months and still in the crib. I really would like to move him out so I can move DD in and out of our bed.

@travellingbee: this gives me such hope for tomorrow night! She tried climbing out again tonight cause she was pissed off I was making her go to bed.

@Smurfette: lol well he doesn't get pissed about bed time but hopefully she'll be so excited about her big girl bed she'll be happy to go in it!

I am terrified of the transition. N is a wanderer. We still need to get another gate before we transition him to a toddler bed.

@Smurfette: well.... He didn't sleep better but he didn't sleep worse. But he does have a cough that kept waking him up...

My son quit the crib between 18 and 20 months, I don't remember any more. He literally screamed in there and one night toddled over to the futon and fell asleep there.

@travellingbee: Hopefully with time he will do better. I asked her this morning if she was excited for a big girl bed tonight and she said no. Wish us luck!

At 12 months she refused the crib, so she slept with us for a little while but that got old. I put 16 months but I think it was 14. It went really well.

We ditched at 27 months because I was sick of hanging over the side of crib to hold his hand while he fell asleep

LO ditched the crib at 18 months...wish we could have kept her in longer!
