I really wanted to sleep on my tummy.
And I had a list of foods I wanted. The day we got home from the hospital my mom brought me bagels and lox and my favorite soft cheeses.

drinking!!!! Wine and champagne and a cold beer and a gin martini and a gimlet. And having spicy tuna rolls once a week and hamachi and salmon sashimi (I will still have the tuna roll while pregnant, just on a dramatically lower basis, boo!)

Yes @Rosie Girl: I cannot wait to go out to a sports bar again, cheer on the Ravens and drink a BEER!
kiwi / 534 posts
@justlikeheaven I didn't even think of rides! I would love to get on a fun roller coaster
I am clueless when it comes to sports or football and the different teams but I do love having a beer and going to a game

I had soft serve the other day lol but I felt guilt eating it. The main things I cant wait to do are
Sleep on my back and tummy
Eat whatever I feel like eating, (sushi, softserve, limitless hotdogs)
See my belly button go back to being an innie
Fit into my clothes again!!

1 - Eat a rare steak and then go eat a spicy tuna roll
2 - follow that up with a Berry Mojito from Applebee's (they're delicious)
3 - Do a HIIT (high intensity interval training) Turbofire workout. They're short, but man they're the BEST cardio workouts! I'm pretty sure I may die half way through the first one I do post-pregnancy, lol
In that order, but probably not in the same day, lol.

@JustlikeHeaven: The problem with that is after you have a baby, you have to wait for the baby to grow up before they can ride the rides!
My friend is taking her 4 month old to Disney. I picture them waiting an hour in line for a ride (the few the baby would be allowed on) and then right when it's their turn the baby gets hungry or poops. It just doesn't sound fun to me to go to Disney with a baby!

@artbee - Oh no, I told my husband one of the first reasons we are leaving our daughter behind during her first year is for us to go to Disneyland! haha. What a horrible mother! I just cant wait THAT long!!
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
@JustlikeHeaven: That's not horrible! It will be nice to get some quality time with your hubby, and you'll have plenty of time later to take the baby (probably when it's not a baby anymore) with you.

@Justlikeheaven you have inspired my first trip after I give birth! I've never been to any Disney. We didn't have the money as a kid and my husband has never ridden a ride in his life. We just skyped and I told him we are going to Disney after our daughter is born haha!

I want my sister to bring me sushi in my hospital room. Salmon sashimi and spicy tuna rolls are definitely what I miss the most.
I also can't wait to sleep on my tummy and back, and have my belly button become an innie again. I'm looking forward to working out again, but I'm not looking forward to the *pain* of getting back into shape.

Ceasar salads, alcohol, sushi, Blizzard from DQ, medium rare steak, and sleeping on my back... one month to go!
eggplant / 11824 posts
MrsBells - its probably the raw egg in homemade dressings.
I thought you could have medium rare steak though? I'm still going with rare, I don't eat steak often.

@Mrsbells: Caesar dressing has raw egg in it, and sometimes anchovies
Oh, add raw cookie dough to the list too!
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
@BabyBoecksMom: You should make some cookie dough without the egg! I'm sure you can substitute something for it.

@artbee: I actually did have a recipe for something like that and I think I will have to make some of that tonight. Thanks for the reminder!

@BabyBoecksMom: I broke all the rules when I was pregnant. Ate frozen yogurt, deli meat, caesar salads, sushi.. -.-
I slept on my back a lot too because it was the only way I could get comfortable.
Had a healthy baby girl though, Thank God!

@chopsuey119: Oh thank goodness I’m not the only rule breaker around here! I’m still eating rare steak, Caesar dressing, runny eggs, soft serve/frozen yogurt and will eat sushi (though maybe not as much sashimi). I can’t imagine women in Japan all stop eating sushi completely while pregnant (?) – I know my coworker’s Japanese wife continued to eat sushi during both her pregnancies. I’ll have a ½ glass of wine now and then too, although that doesn’t sate my desire to have multiple glasses!

@yoursliverlining I think you just have to do what you are comfortable with. I have a medical background and so I tend to be on the more cautious side. Getting in a car everyday is a risk but people just need to be comfortable with the risks they take. I still love to exercise and you would not believe the looks I get in the gym.

@ecogirl: agreed, it's about comfort level, and common sense of course. I probably wouldn't eat sushi from a strip mall in the Midwest, we live on the coast and know the owners of our favorite sushi place and know when he gets his fish in, so it's super fresh. I'm comfortable with where we source our steak and the slaughter conditions; so it's not like it's coming from somewhere sketchy or a chain restaurant that might not take all the proper procautions or buys meat from factory farms. So, I act within my comfort zone, which includes thinking some of these restrictions are crazy.

1. Eat the following (not in one sitting or in order):
-a hot dog
-a Vietnamese sandwich with the bad deli meats and yummy pate sauce (usually the #2 special),
-sashimi (salmon, yellowtail, and albacore are my favs)
-a glass (or bottle) of champagne or a nice cold beer
-sunny side up eggs with the yolks kinda runny
-medium rare steak (this would be good with the eggs and some rice)
-my MIL's seabass
2. Sleep on my tummy

@ecogirl: I totally understand the looks at the gym, and in my neighborhood when I take my dogs jogging with me. It makes me want to wear a sign that says "Yes I've talked to my doctor, and he says it's fine!!!" lol

I wanted to eat sushi with raw fish, drink a beer, then sleep on my stomach!
