Clear and brownish, like at the very end of your period.

Mine was like a huge glob of snot, like big gumball size I was amazed. Looked the same color as snot. Ew.

Mine was a white glob...then the next day it was pinkish. My water started leaking less than 24 hrs later and I went into labor. Not sure if that's typical though!

@mediagirl: mine looked like this too. also it was 5am and i wasn't wearing my contacts/glasses, so i had to get up real nice and close to the toilet (i had just peed) to get a good look. then my husband and sister came to look. what a great family moment.

@lawbee11: Mine fell out a couple chunks over the course of a day and then my water broke the same night!

@MamaMoose: Yeeaahh...wasn't easy or super comfy for me...I ended up stopping him and taking us to the bedroom. Still not particularly comfy in there, but at least I didn't have to worry about slipping, lol.

Clear and brownish. Some pink stringiness. I went into labor less than 48 hours later!

Just as you described. I went into labor the same day.

I would just like to say that I have no idea why I read this thread to the bottom...I'm fascinated and horrified at these descriptions at the same time . And I'm laughing at myself for doing it...I need help

I hate that every time someone writes about mucus plugs I have to google image search. I've already looked at the pictures 5 times, why do I keep doin it? Ick!

Lol just wanted to chime in to say that this post drove me to the Google search 'what happens to your mucus plug if you have a c-section?' And now I'm still not sure! Haha

Mine was long.. 4 inches or so. Clear but cloudy and stringy. Strings running through it were white, clear and pinkish:

To add to the gross factor to this thread- I'd been losing it in parts throughout early labor. When I got to the hospital and was checked, the midwife help up her hand to show us after and happily announced "bloody show!"

I never saw it . . . I was induced.

@lawbee11: you should post to our August board. Everyone would love to see it I think you're gonna be next! My due date is the same as yours according to the hospital (I say it's the 14th though). So I'm excited if you're next! I could be soon too!

I have been losing plug and/or show for a week now. First it was mostly yellow with pink or brown in it, just a small amount each day. then on the 6th day it was clear with a lot of red in it, and greater quantity. then later in the 6th day and throughout the 7th day, it was very thick dark maroon, no white or yellow at all, just dark brown globs, and kind of a lot. midwife called everything before the stuff with red blood 'mucous plug' and things after 'bloody show'. i've been having fairly strong but irregular contractions over the past couple of days.
