Sitting here, waiting impatiently for baby to arrive (40w4d). I've cleaned, baked, made freezer meals, napped, watched movies, etc. I am grateful to be on leave and that everything is healthy and feel guilty to admit I am BORED and impatient to meet baby!
If you were overdue, what did you/would you suggest to spend this time? I know life is about to get crazy up in here and to enjoy these last days...help me relax and spend them wisely!

Movie fest . . . go go! Seriously, my LO came early (I had an unplanned induction), and I am (still) a little sad that I did not get a chance to queue up some movies on the Apple TV and chain watch them with my kitkats curled up on the couch next to me.
I also wish I had had the chance to get a pedicure before delivering!
I hate it for you, but hope you are able to make the best of it!

@MsLipGloss: Oh man, kit kats sound awesome right now! Any good movie suggestions? We have netflix and hulu. I know I need to enjoy these days but with the constant texts/calls/FB messages I feel like I am making everyone wait!!

I did a LOT of jigsaw puzzles in the last days. It helped me to focus my mind on something other than how I was feeling.

I was 41 w and 2 days... Not gonna lie, it was awful. Try to stay active, take time for you and your husband, eat lots of good food, and try not to stress!

@maybebaby: lol - I meant my furbabies (I call them kitkats, cus they're kitties). 
As for movie recs, I am not sure (I haven't seen one in forever!) . . . what about The Raven (John Cusack), Hunger Games (if you haven't seen it), Big Fish (great story), and The Paperboy (I haven't seen it yet, but I plan on it!).

I spent alot of time sleeping! Got adjusted a the chiro, got a pedi, and just used my time as I please (as much as I could with a 7 y/o anyways). Oh & I watched a few tv series... Monk, Numb3rs, Bones (started it & got caught up), and SAB.

Go out for lunch to a fancy restaurant--one that you wouldn't want to bring a baby to!

@maybebaby: i agree - movie theater if you are good sitting there for that long! I went knowing I wouldn't be able to go for a while and it was fun, but I got really uncomfortable.
it's so nice out- can you get outside and hang out - maybe head to the charles river or something & chill under a tree with some music and a book? we did a few picnics when i was overdue and it was so nice to sit outside and chill!

Oh, I so feel for you as I was in your shoes a mere five weeks ago. DD was born at 42w1d and I started mat leave at 39 weeks, so I had three weeks of total boredom! I had already gotten everything ready for baby, so had nothing to do.
Here are some ideas:
-long walks every day (has the added bonus of helping baby drop lower)
-daily naps
-camp out on the couch with some movies or netflix you've been wanting to watch
-if you haven't already, this would be a good time to make a few freezer meals
-if you're planning to send birth announcements by mail, get the mailing labels done now (I am SO happy to I did this ahead of time!)
-go for acupuncture or a massage
-meet your DH or friends for lunch
-if you're planning to BF, make a batch of lactation cookies that you can freeze and have on hand for when baby arrives (this was the recipe I used and they were really good: http://www.organicmamacafe.com/2012/07/flourless-lactation-cookies-monster-cookie-style/)

@kml636: We've been taking nightly walks to our favorite fro yo place about a 30 minute walk from here--those are my sanity
@rachiecakes: I've gotten the mani pedi and haircut, went shopping at the Wrentham Outlets Saturday and been enjoying lots of meals out. The announcement design is SUCH a good idea--totally doing that today!

@runsyellowlites: I REALLY need to take the nap advice. This has been on my list every day and in the past three weeks of having been home (I graduated/left my interim job when my coworker's maternity leave ended) I have maybe taken 2?
@hellobeeboston: headed to DH's work in Cambridge today and bringing a picnic--maybe I will bring a book and linger afterwards to enjoy the weather!
@hergreenapples: I've done almost everything on that list (and have another induction acupuncture appointment for tomorrow!) but the lactation cookies are SUCH a good idea. I think we have JUST enough room in the freezer. Thank you!

@maybebaby: I second making lactation cookie! It looks like that link above is bad but I really liked making them like monster cookies instead of the traditional ones with flour.

@maybebaby: I had to get it from a natural food store (like Earth Fare). You can also order on Amazon because it can be expensive. Or if you have a beer making supply store they should have it!

You could attempt to make some homemade goods like laundry detergent. Dont know if thats up your ally but thought I'd offer the suggestion.

@T.H.O.U.: Absolutely! I just made a homemade "Febreeze" and shower spray/counter cleaner the other day. Haven't tried the laundry detergent yet--great idea!

I relaxed. and walked around hobby lobby for a few hours because everyone told me I needed to 'make him uncomfortable' and 'walking! it's what sent me into labor!' it didn't work....haha

I watched a lot of tv, got the house sparkling, and went online shopping. Oh I also downloaded new books to my kindle!
