I'm pretty sure when my Mazda 3 dies someday, I'm going to get a Subaru Outback! That's like 5 years away, though.... Lol

Our Acura sedan died in the fall and we got my "mom car" then- Lexus rx350 (a few years old). I love it! We only have one car but if we move to the suburbs we will get a second, which will be dh's- he wants a sportier sedan that can still hold two car seats.

Fantasy - Tesla. Otherwise maybe a Nissan Leaf. I love zero emissions. My car only has 80K miles on it, it is 10 years old and we drive even less now so I don't think I will need another one for at least 10-15 years.

Something with AWD, maybe a Subaru. My dream car would basically be a souped up version of our Honda Fit. I think they are actually making something like that soon so I'm hopeful!

I currently have a 15 yr old subaru liberty sedan, we were going to buy a car late last year but are now waiting for the new volkswagen passat wagon to come out some time later in the year.

@mediagirl: I love the outback!
I actually really love Subaru's; my next car will probably be a crosstek. I want to get one after I graduate this year, so probably next year sometime.

@Mrs. Pen: my best friend has one of those. It's awesome! She has it in orange.

I really, really love our Honda odyssey. It's new so I'll have it for probably 5-7 years. But maybe an Acura MDX once we're done with car seats? Or a fun date car like a Porsche Boxster! One can dream, right? I bet we'll be 65 by the time we get a fun date car! Haha

We just bought our "next car," three weeks ago! We purchased a new Jeep Cherokee, and I love it. If we have a second LO I would probably trade in my two door Honda, and get a bigger suv and DH use the Jeep.

Love my Outback but will get a 2016 Honda Pilot next! We need a bigger car.

A full size Range Rover. The sport is a touch small now with the babe and 2 pups.

Fantasy: Range Rover
Reality (within the next few months, actually): maybe a newer Toyota 4Runner, but more likely a Lexus RX350 or RX450h (hybrid SUV)

Our next car will probably be either a Toyota Sequoia or a GMC Yukon XL. Something roomy to fit the kids in!

@mediagirl: my first car was a Subaru Legacy and I was in love with it. It's incredible in the snow. I really appreciate the quality of the car- good gas mileage and they last forever.
I'm looking at the blue crosstek- I know it's silly but it's because it's Cobi's favorite color haha
It's bigger than a car- which is nice- but not as big as an suv.
@matador84: is the outback not big enough?

@mediagirl: just bought a new Subaru Forester last week and loving it!

@Mrs. Pen: I think my liberty is the equivalent of the US model Legacy. Mine is a 2000 model so its a bit dated but still seems to be kicking on OK.

We are getting a 2016 Chevy Volt this fall! Replacing our 2 seater sports car when baby arrives. DH's work gives him money for a hybrid, plus all the tax incentives make it super affordable!

Anything that comes with a driver?!? I'm so out of practice at driving after years of overseas/city living. I'm putting off owning a car for niw, especially while I'd have to street-park it.
@chopsuey: does it feel huge? My DH wants a Q7 (as in wants me to drive one) but I can't imagine driving anything bigger than the Q5.

@Mrs. Pen: it's bigger than a sedan and I HATE to get rid of it, but with two convertibles there's hardly any room in middle, my husband is very tall and it drives me insane there is no room between the back of driver seat and DD car seat. If he's in passenger he's all up on my FF sons legs. When we take roadtrips the car is sooo loaded down!

@PinkElephant: doesn't feel huge at all and drives like a dream!

I want a Subaru Impreza. I haven't really been looking lately, but is the Crosstrek the size of the old Outbacks before they supersized them? In that case, maybe I'd change my mind and want that instead...I just don't like really big cars and the current Outbacks are huge!
DH wants a BMW i3, his friend has one and has totally sold him on it. The fact that you can only drive 80 miles on a charge is a dealbreaker for me, though, I can't imagine spending THAT much on a car with such limitations.

@chopsuey: thanks for the feedback! I used to think I wouldn't like SUVs in general but have rented some recently (we live in the city and don't own a car for now) and I'm starting to find I enjoy drving a mid-to-large size vehicle more than I expected

I bought a Honda Odyssey a few days ago and LOVE it. I was anti minivan for ages, but now that I've given in, I'm so glad I did! It's just so perfect for this stage of life. I'm planning to be in it for 5-10 years and then what we get next (for me, not the commuter we'll actually need to replace next) will depend on how many kids we had.

@PurplePeony: I haven't driven a crosstek yet, but I've seen them and I'd say they're similar size to the old outback.

No idea what our next car will be as ours are only 5 and 6 years old. My dream car is a Tesla! My former boss had one and it is amazing!

Dream car = Porsche Cayenne
Reality is I'm sure we're going to sell our Pilot and downsize to a sedan (no idea what, but cheap) in order to have no payments so we can save more. After we buy our house we'll go car shopping again. My Husband is dead set on a lifted F350 quad cab. So maybe I'll get my Cayenne, HA!!

@mediagirl: we are looking at them tomorrow! Our impreza needs more work done an we have been talking about upgrading to a bigger car for a while now.
honeydew / 7444 posts
@PurplePeony: the impreza was fine with just DH and me (we are small), got a little tight with DD and now with two car seats - ugh!
pineapple / 12566 posts
@PinkElephant: me too! Haha, any car that comes with a chauffeur. I haven't driven a car in almost 3 years, and I haven't regularly driven a car since I was a teenager! I've probably forgotten how it works at this point!
