I'd say 30-34 weeks. You're nice and pregnant but not so pregnant that you're miserable, and it leaves you time to get organized and buy anything you still need.

I had a couple around 33ish, and a couple that were later - the later ones stressed me out!

We're having one at 31 weeks and one at 32 weeks! I'm almost 30 weeks and still feeling pretty good, so I would say beginning of 3rd Tri is a pretty good place to start!

@TapDancer: Yeah, I'd probably go on the earlier side if you decide to have it at your house - the good news is that you won't have to transport all your gifts, but the bad news is that you'll be cleaning/dusting/organizing the whole week before. This would be a good time to drop a hint to your friends/DH that a one-time deep cleaning would be a FANTASTIC baby shower gift.

Mine was at 32 weeks and it was perfect, I was showing enough (but not too much ), still had energy and had enough time after to get what I needed.

Another vote for the 29-32 week range. With DS mine was at 28 weeks and another planned for 30 something weeks (which I missed since my water broke at my first one ). With DD I think it was around 30 weeks.

@TapDancer: I said none before 24 weeks (viability). I had one at 26 and one at 36. I would say 26 was a little early, but it was nice to have everything to prepare and set up. 36 was too late. I was huge, uncomfortable, and my nesting had passed. I was so over being pregnant.

If I were yo do it again, I'd say 32 weeks.

I was like 29.5 weeks and it was perfect. Big enough bump but not totally uncomfortable.
