I dropped my maiden name because I didn't want to lose my middle name. My maiden name and married name also rhyme so they don't sound good together. I go by my married name professionally and personally.

I wanted to drop my middle name but it made my mom sad so I dropped my maiden and took DH's last name,

I just changed my maiden name to his and kept my middle name. It's a family middle name that's common but most of the women on my mom's side have the name. I have 3 brothers and figured they can carry on my maiden name.

Changed to MyFirst MyMiddle MyMaiden HisLast, but go by maiden name at work. Outside of work, I want to go by MyFirst MyMaiden HisLast, but everyone keeps dropping MyMaiden. On correspondence, I write MyFirst MI MyMaiden HisLast to get the point across that MyMaiden is part of my name. I call everyone whatever name they want, and get frustrated when it doesn't go both ways.

I didn't even realize it was a thing to do otherwise until several years after marriage - I grew up pretty sheltered!!
