As far as Netflix series go...

DH and I are currently finishing up season 4 of Breaking Bad. I basically attack him once DD falls asleep in the evening, and make him sit down with me to watch an episode (or 3). We're both super into it. It lives up to its hype - the show is pretty amazing.

I liked Friday Night Lights, and while the drama/romance elements can be a little soapy, it has tons of football, which kept DH invested.

I liked Prison Break. The first two seasons were incredibly addicting, but admittedly, I started to loose interest by the 3rd season.

Orange is the New Black was super enjoyable, but my girlfriends and I liked it far more than DH did.

I love-love-loved The L Word, but I'm not sure how much DH would have been into it. It's more of a series for women. Definitely watch it on your own, some time!

Lost - if you haven't already, do it. Probably tied with HBO's "Oz" as my favorite series of all time.

Sherlock - definitely try this one. It is fantastic, and I'm dying waiting for the next season to come out.

Luther - although this can be a little difficult to watch at times, it is excellent

Have you done The Sopranos / The Wire / 6 Feet Under? All great, but all only on dvd through netflix? The Sopranos and THe Wire were both great tv shows to watch together- they stirred up a lot of conversations for us that were fun to have.

For comedy, we watch Parks and Rec, Modern Family, and New Girl

I second The Mindy Project. That show is hilarious and well paired with New Girl!
