I've been perusing ideas, and I think I might go with a "Two by Two" Noah's Ark theme since it would go with a twin birthday and I could just do lots of animal and rainbow things. I love this invite and cake!

DD's first birthday party theme was butterflies - picked solely because we found cute plates that had a butterfly on them.
DS' really didn't have a first birthday party except we met up with the grandparents and cousins at the zoo so it is a stretch but his theme was zoo animals.

i only decided to do a theme when i was looking at evites and saw there was a lion king themed one, so i went for it! I was obsessed with the Lion King in high school and DS's nursery is lion king themed so i just love it!
His party is next month, but here is a pic of the supplies and inspiration for cake that i sent to the person doing his cake (i don't bake so a fancy cake will be my big splurge for his party). the pic with "1" in the center is what i would like to go in the center of the cake with his name.

@swurlygurl: me too, i can't get enough! the supplies i got are actually intended for a baby shower but i think they are also perfect for a baby birthday!

I didn't really have a theme. I just wanted light colors and bought a bunch of tulle to hang up as balls (much cheaper than the paper ones and they're reusable too). Funny thing is, it rained like crazy that day, so I didn't get to do what I planned. But we were only planning to have family over, so it all turned out OK.

@Mrs. Blue: Um, oh my word... SO CUTE. I'm so glad you're already thinking about their first birthday - doesn't make me feel so crazy about pinning all of this party stuff lately.

James was Sesame Street, Nick and Joe were Westerns, Lilly was neverland (tinkerbell for her and Peter Pan for James). I will find some pictures in a little bit. I love the Noah's ark theme, so cute.

@SugarplumsMom: How did you make the poufs?
@Mrs. Blue: I love the Noah's Ark theme - 2 by 2 is perfect!

@MaisyMay: It was super easy! I wrapped a tulle roll around a piece of cardboard (I think I counted around 20 wrap arounds for the little one). Slip the whole thing off the cardboard and take a small piece of the same color tulle and tie it around the middle, gathering it all. Then cut the ends and trim. Instant puff ball!
