LO is only 7 months old but I'm insane and already starting to think about this. I have a theme in mind, but it's not set in stone. What was your LO's first birthday theme??

@lawbee11: You aren't insane! I think I started pinning ideas she was 12 weeks old. I changed the theme but still.
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star! Pretty sure my house is going to be covered in glitter for weeks after!

DS was "colors" - not really a theme but I wanted to use all the colors!

Ha-- I'm not even sure if we are going to HAVE a first birthday party! I mean, I guess we will, but our families are far and we don't have room to put people up overnight, and we don't have that much room to host a party... So I don't know. If we do, I'll wait and see what she actually likes this summer. I feel like so much will change between now and then.

@Mamaof2: That totally reminds me of the movie That Thing You Do-- the Oh-nee-ders? (The Wonders/ One-ders)

DS's was farm themed. I had a cake made with Little People farm stuff on it and he got the barn as a present.

@Mamaof2: Winter ONEderland is really cute...unfortunately LO's birthday is in August and we live in Texas so it'll be the opposite of wintry.
@Smurfette: Spill it!

DS birthday is oct 3 2012 and my niece's birthday is oct 4 2011 so they are almost a year apart in age so we had had a thing "turning" one and thing "turning" two party. Very dr. Seuss and colorful.

I hadn't thought about it, but while grocery shopping the other day, there was a HUGE bin of 1st birthday banners with corresponding party cups, plates, napkins, and invitations for $0.97 each! So that's how DS's 1st birthday them came to be.
It's Safari/jungle theme.

I'm totally thinking about this already.
Pretty sure I'm going with Alice in One-derland...but I would LOVE to do a cupcake party, because I'm a little baked-goods obsessed.

We did rainbow theme as she was "the rainbow after the storm" because she was born during Hurricane Sandy. I have no idea what 2 will be though...

Hawaii - Everyone was told to wear Hawaiian shirts... (which almost everyone owned), had lots of luau stuff (party city has a huge section) and had Hawaiian food (L&L party trays are cheap!). I got plastic lais for cheap on the Internets and the thank you gift were little Hawaiian duckys.

I don't think we had a theme as I didn't do a lot of decorating. But we ended up doing colors (blue, green, white) since I hung up some leftover paper lanterns that didn't get hung up in his room.

@Smurfette: @cmomma17: @yerpie110: Thanks We called her our little strawberry while I was pregnant and I also bought this dress for her in 12m while I was pregnant so I'd love if she wore it at the party (assuming it fits)!

Love the strawberry theme!

No theme, just colors....pink, yellow, peach, and orange! I made paper rosettes like these:

And that was the decoration! I put it over the fireplace with a montage of LO pictures.

I've been tossing ideas around but the current thought is ladybug themed. I call her a long list of 'bug' related thing (bugaboo, buggise, junebug etc). The only problem is, I hate the color combo of red and black hahaha. Back to the drawing board I suppose.
@lawbee11: I loveeee those invites and the dress.
