If you found out the gender of your baby before it was born, what week did you find out? Was it at an elective or regular ultrasound?

17 weeks. It was the anatomy scan and I was able to snag one of the earliest appointments they would let me.

I found out at 15 weeks when I went to the hospital for some abdominal pain. If I hadn't been at the hospital, I would have found out just five days later at my 16 week appointment.
But, I did ask the u/s tech to look at 12 weeks (even though she didn't want to) and she was right about it being two boys! She gave me really low chances of how sure she was though since she said they're really not supposed to tell at that time, since it's not as clear.

They couldn't tell at 16 weeks with enough confidence to tell us one way or the other, but they said they were positive that at 18 weeks they'll be able to tell. Both of ours are required appts.

We found out at 18 weeks during our anatomy scan. The tech said they were clearly presenting as boy and girl.

@chopsuey119: I've gone from being Team Green to wanting to find out RIGHT NOW....hahhaha!

We found out at 20weeks at the anatomy scan. I really wanted to find out earlier at an elective U/S but they wouldn't do it any earlier than 18 weeks and I was out of town for weeks 18&19.

I'm 19 weeks, and still waiting to get in for an ultrasound. It's killing me. If I just had a date to look forward to, this would be easier.

16 weeks. My OB did an ultrasound and asked if we wanted to know. He was about 90% sure it was a boy, we still waited until the anatomy scan to verify before we told anyone.

We have ours on Monday, and I will be 20 weeks. Just the normal anatomy scan. We choose to wait and pay for an elective scan. Which now I am questioning, cause I just want to know!

@Arden: Have you called them back? I am too impatient to keep waiting.

Right around 17 weeks. It was elective and we went to a place out in town...not my clinic. My doc didnt do it until 20 weeks.

With our first, we found out at 18 weeks. This time, we unofficially found out at our 12-13 week NT scan, but we took it with a grain of salt. We got the official confirmation at 20 weeks.

19 weeks at our anatomy scan! well, actually we found out a few days after that appointment since we wanted to find out in a more creative way than just in the doc's office.

@Mrs. Blue: have you announced it yet?!?!
they made me come in right at 20 weeks. They wouldn't allow me to come in earlier.

I was supposed to find out at week 20, but I found out at week 13 because I had a CVS.

@Coco Bee: They couldn't quite tell at out u/s, so we have to wait until our next one, which thankfully is right around the corner!

Our anatomy scan was at 21 weeks, but we had an appointment at 18 weeks and they were very confident then! She is stubborn but not especially modest.

@Smurfette: I called today and asked if I could find my own imaging place instead of the one they are contracted with, and they said I could.
So I found one close to home and asked the birth center to fax over a prescription for an ultrasound, so hopefully I'll be getting a phone call soon from the imaging center to schedule the ultrasound. Ideally, I'll get an appointment tomorrow or at least next Monday...

@Arden: Fingers crossed for you! I will be so jealous if you find out tomorrow.

@Smurfette: I'm wondering if I should call the place myself instead of waiting for them to call me...
