I think I'm 4 weeks 2 days and had my blood work done yesterday. My hCG was 41 and my progesterone was 6.2. What were your levels in early pregnancy? My levels seem low to me.

I never had progesterone checked.
HCG I know it's more about the doubling than the numbers, so I wouldn't worry about it. Are you scheduled to have it checked again? My hCG was super high though. At 5 weeks it was 7000 and at 6 weeks it was 10 000+ (they didn't tell me the exact number).

I don't know about P, but my hCG was super low at the beginning. Only 7 at 10 DPO (when I got my BFP) - 5 or less is negative, so my doctor was quite concerned. 6 days later it had doubled, but was still really low - 67.
ETA: My betas eventually got to a good level, but I had two early u/s to make sure the pregnancy wasn't ectopic (that was the fear based on my low levels). Baby is now 13 months old.
Next time, I want to skip the betas and just have the u/s. Waiting for results and then having the numbers be confusing was just too much.

Your HCG sounds just fine to me, key is the doubling. I only had my progesterone checked once at 5w and it was about 20, I'm not sure if there should be much of difference between 4-5 weeks, but I think they like to see it above 10? Maybe they will give you supplements.
There are some charts here: http://www.fertilityplus.com/faq/hormonelevels.html#progesterone
Sending sticky vibes!!!!

The progesterone sounds low! Mine was a 7, and I ended up with suppositories!
I know nothing about HCG.
Best wishes for a sticky baby!

My progesterone only slightly increased and even though they were close to 20, due to prior losses the OB put me on supplements.
Your HCG sound normal. Are you sure when you ovulated or just LMP?
cantaloupe / 6751 posts
My HCG was only 35 at the time when I was 4wks, 3 days. Key is doubling - the individual numbers alone don't mean anything, so don't be stressed!
(btw I had a healthy pregnancy and she's now almost 2yo!)

@swedishfish: That P sounds very low
Apparently anywhere between 5-10 is minimum for indicating ovulation and after implantation, it should continue to rise from there. So, I'd ask about supplements
My levels were 140 (HCG) and 14.6 at 5w2d. I was put on supplements.

@T.H.O.U.: this is a complete surprise so I have no idea. My periods were always irregular. My last one was in November.
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
I had very early betas. 10 dpo= 32 and 12dpo=123. I also had it checked at exactly 5 weeks and it was above 9,000.
I had P checked too (can't remember which time though) and I think it was 21.
Fingers crossed for you!!! I hope this is a very sticky baby

@CupQuakeWalk: the nurse told me to get blood work done again tomorrow. She said the levels were consistent with early pregnancy but I feel uneasy.
coconut / 8475 posts
@swedishfish: oh ok, that's good! I'm glad they're double checking it.
By the way: my OB said if you eat right before a blood test, it could show slightly lowered results of progesterone. Just saying, if you did eat, it could be that too. But she said "slightly".

@CupQuakeWalk: hmm, I might've had a few almonds. I think I ate them after the blood work though.

The hcg seems fine as long as it doubles in 48 hours. But the progesterone seems really low. My doctor gives supplements anywhere under 20.

at 14DPO I was 39 and then at 17DPO it was at 2000. and I proceeded to freak out about triplets. nope, just one.

having just been in beta hell myself - sending you lots of hugs and sticky vibes! hope you get good news with the second beta!
I second asking for progesterone supplements if your next beta doubles.
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
also, in my only success my 11dpo beta was 36 and my 15dpo beta was 385 or something.
this past time my first beta was 28 which is not so different, but it didn't move at all in 3 days (up or down). so it really is the doubling that makes the difference.
persimmon / 1085 posts
My beta was about the same at that point. I think it was 48 or so. It ended up doubling OK. I think as others said the progesterone level is very low and I would start on a suppository today. My RE gave injections to me since it was IVF so I started them right away, but I think he would give suppositories to anybody with a number lower than 20 or so. Good luck!!

4w6d (19ish DPO) beta= 1934, progesterone 42.6
Just like previous posters said, one beta isn't enough information to go from. As long as the beta doubles tomorrow I wouldn't worry. I referenced this chart early on in my pregnancy and found it helpful: http://www.betabase.info/showBasicChart.php?type=Single
No experience with the progesterone issue, but if you're worried I say give them a call!
fingers crossed for you!

@swedishfish: I had betas done at 4w5d and I can't remember exactly what my HCG was; I think it was around 250 but my progesterone was 8.9.
I thought my progesterone was super low and worried myself sick that the pregnancy was not viable since I heard it should be over 10. I had a lot of drama getting my P results and I wasn't put on P supplements until 2 weeks later (which really probably didn't do me any good at that point). Anyways I had a viability u/s and all was good! I'm 13 weeks currently.
sending lots of sticky vibes your way!

I think I was 297 around 4 weeks so not crazy high. Never got progesterone checked though! Sending sticky thoughts!

Thinking sticky thought for you! Please insist on a progesterone prescription... Hcg seems normal though!

So I completely misread the lab's hours - as in they were closed yesterday. It was too late to go to another location so I went to a local hospital. I have a snow day today so my husband suggested calling the hospital lab to see if the results are back yet since the doctor's office might be opening late. My hCG on Monday was 41 and yesterday's was 122. It almost tripled so that's good. My progesterone is still pending.

Great doubling time!! I agree about the P, though-that seems really low. I hope that you can get some supplements to help it out.
Stick, little one, stick!!!!!

@swedishfish: Oh that's great doubling! Maybe when you talk to them you could ask about progesterone supplements just to make sure things continue to go well. Keep growing sticky little baby!!

@swedishfish: Great news about your HCG! I hope the progesterone comes back nice and high too!

Ugh, my doctor's office is closed today because of the storm. I called the hospital lab again to see about my progesterone and the woman reprimanded me. They're not allowed to give out test results to patients. Really? Other labs do.
pomelo / 5228 posts
@swedishfish: What lab company is it? Many of them are hooked into Health Vault so you can get results yourself. Labcorp has by far been the easiest for me, but Quest isn't bad either.
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@Mrs.Someone: I still cannot get the freakin LabCorp one to work for me!
GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts
@Mrs.Someone: they're a hospital lab. She told me I could call the on call doctor to have the results faxed to him/her. I'm not bothering the on call doctor with this.
pomelo / 5228 posts
@T.H.O.U.: Boo, maybe your state has different rules on it than mine?
@swedishfish: It should still be sponsored by a company, or at least all the ones here are. I've had luck going to the lab in person and requesting results too.
@spaniellove: Me too! Labcorp is even easier too, you don't have to make a request and it just shows up in your inbox when ready.

My progesterone was only 8.3 on Wednesday. I'm going for repeat blood work again today. They still will not put me on progesterone supplements. I'm getting so aggravated. At least I have an appointment on Monday.
