@swedishfish: Is this an OB? Is it possible for you to contact your RE?

@spaniellove: yes, this is an OB. Do you think it would be alright if I e-mailed my RE?
ETA - I have been told twice that only a NP has looked at my chart. The OB hasn't even seen it yet.

I just got betas done yesterday at 3w4d and my hcg was 18. Going for repeat on Sunday. They didn't check my progesterone though! Maybe I'll ask them to add it on.

@swedishfish: Definitely call your RE! You spent tons on IVF with them, writing you a P prescription shouldn't be a problem. They may need your OB to fax the blood work results though.

@swedishfish: I would totally contact your RE! Even if you have an appointment with your OB coming up it would never hurt to have a backup with someone who you trust to handle PAIF.

I would call the RE right now and ask for a progesterone supplement. They can call the script right in for you to go get. I'm just being completely honest here...that level of 8 is very low. And since it dropped from the 12, I really think you need to start the supplements right away. I just read above that you did IVF (I did too in 2012) and am curious why you are dealing with an OB and not your RE since you are still in the 1st trimester? I saw my RE until about week 11 (then I graduated to seeing my OB) and I was on progesterone injections automatically the entire 1st trimester (well the last few weeks I was on suppositories). It's automatically given by my RE to all IVF patients to keep the progesterone levels up. Please call right now!

Oh and never feel bad about contacting the doctor. This is your little one you are talking about here! That's what the on-call docs are there for.

@Jenn23: no, my progesterone went up from 6 to 8. This is a natural pregnancy.

@swedishfish: Oh sorry, I thought you had said it was a 12 before and thought someone above mentioned IVF. An 8 is still low. Most RE's like it above 15 or so. I would really try to get a supplement and if the OB doesn't want to, then ask the RE. Higher progesterone is very important until the placenta takes over and makes it in a few weeks from now.

@swedishfish: heck, I'm ready to mail you my leftover Endometrin! Email your RE... it can't hurt, and if the RE contacts the OB to get your bloodwork, maybe that will light a fire under the OB's butt. Good luck!

@Jenn23: sorry, I was in the car before. I went through IVF for my first pregnancy. This pregnancy was a total surprise because we have both male and female factor infertility. Maybe I should've contacted the RE first but I'm not sure if they'd even see me because I wasn't under their care when I got pregnant.
