Ok - here goes my background for this question:

I moved back to my hometown a few months ago. It's a small town so only a limited number of obgyn choices in town (maybe 4?)

I went to try out the newest doctor in town, and currently the only female (which is what I'd prefer). I wanted TTC advice due to miscarriage and chemical this year. She was just not going to be right doctor for me (her only advice was to not stress, have holiday drinks and lots of sex with DH).

So after that appointment I talked to my BFF who is pregnant. Her doctor used to be in our town, but now practices in a city 1 hour away. She has stayed with that doctor and absolutely loves her. My plan was to go consult with her in a few months, but I found out this weekend I'm pregnant.

Now I'm torn whether I should see doctor with great recommendation and commit to giving birth an hour away, or if I should go to a male doctor that I know a lot people like locally.

There are also female doctors I could try out in towns about 20-30min away, but I don't have any personal recommendations for any of those.

Any thoughts appreciated!!
