Wow, what a happy discovery!!

No LO yet, so I have no idea what I would do. But I ran into a couple at the ferris wheel that had this happen to them, so they took as many photos as they possibly could to try and make it up. I happily helped them out.

i'd try to collect every single picture that anyone had of lo during that time period. and i'd be really really sad.

but then i'd try to let it go. at the end of the day pictures are nice but they aren't critical.

(but i have to admit this is a huge fear of mine and i have a mini panic attack ever time i hit delete after transferring my pictures to a flash drive.)

We back our computers up to another computer/server. It's saved me a few times when my hard drive acted up. I'd like to back them up on a secure USB and store them elsewhere, but DH isn't big on that idea.

This did happen to me. We had them all digitally and had backed up one computer to the other but when your house is broken into and both computers are stolen it doesn't do you much good. We lost everything of the first 16 months. Now we back up to a cloud. We asked all friends and family for copies of any photos we had shared with them and were able to recover some of our images but few of them were high resolution. It is a mistake we just have to live with.

I'd have a fit Thankfully I save them to an external hard drive and then print them out as well. I just want to make sure I have enough of them for when she's older and I'm an old lady. I already look at her baby pictures and she's only 2!

Wow that is great you found those!

Recently, my FIL lost a portable harddrive with ALL the pictures he took for 4 vacations (China, Europe, Israel and Cancun) and both his son's and daughters wedding. He was devastated and so was his wife. He never recovered those images...

This is why I always back up my pictures.

oh my gosh that's amazing you found out you had dropbox!

I would be devastated for sure. I need to be a lot better about backing up my stuff. I was when I had my old computer but it's harder to do on my mac because of the way macs import pictures.
