It depends on who she married. If it was some loser, I would probably be more pissed than if he was a good guy.

I think if I was surprised by it, I'd be upset that I wasn't there for such a big event. If I knew they were thinking about & I liked their SO, I'd be happy for them.

As long as the guy was a good guy I wouldn't mind. I think it's their choice. I'd probably try to throw them a reception afterwards!

DH and I eloped! We had a wedding a few months later though for friends and family.
At the time DH didn't understand why my parents were so upset, but now that he has a daughter, he totally gets it.
I'd probably make my kids have a wedding ceremony if they ended up eloping. Hope they're not as crazy as us though!
