There are soooo many names that I love that DH has vetoed. He says they are either too 'old lady' or he knows someone with that name.
Some of my favs are:
Maeve (My all time favorite name since I was a little girl...seriously, I am still hoping to get this as a middle name some day!! My chances aren't looking good though)

Without a doubt, if my my DH didn't have a say our little girl would be called Lois. I really, really love that name - but DH cannot (or should I say WILL not) say it without doing an impression of Stewie from Family Guy and says he cannot (erm, WILL not) get over the association. It racks me off so much!!

@Cherrybee: Hahaha, our DH's sound exactly alike. It's maddening! I give a name and he'll make some obscure connection (or be reminded of someone he knew 20 years ago with that name that bothered him). We literally have ONE girl name and ONE boy name that we agree on...not sure what we will do next time around if we get a 2nd of the same gender, lol!

Ramona (girl) or Cormac (boy)
I love the names we have picked, too- but those were top favorites of mine that he vetoed. I actually would probably go with Ramona if he had no say, but might stay with the boy's name we have picked out.
I also love Harriet and Henrietta

For girls, I liked the names Naomi and Vivienne, but DH was on the fence about them because he knows people with those names and couldn't help associating it with them (not in a good way).
For boys, I really liked Oliver but he nixed that one immediately. He said it felt "feminine" to him.

I am obsessed with Liam, and want to honor my maiden name in a way by using Ch sound for the middle.
For a girl I have lots (7 or 8) I love, but not sure how I would combine them.

@char54: It's infuriating, isn't it?! He says that it's important to make sure that other children can't make fun of him or her - but the problem is, my DH could make fun of absolutely anything and some of his associations are so obscure he has to explain them to me! Grrrrr!!!!!!

i really liked Evan for a boy but DH said it didn't sound good with a French accent. we did end up going with the first name I came up with though. but before it was final i came up with a ton of others and he vetoed pretty much all of them.

oh and I grew up attached to the name Sally for a girl. But he vetoed that years ago before we even got married or knew when we were having kids. I came up with another girl name and I think he will go for it if we have a girl for our second kid.

So many great names listed. There are oh so many I love. Tristan but DH said no way. I also love Thaddeus, Winston, Henrietta, Agatha, Beatrice/Beatrix, and Louisa. Our names will most likely have to have 7 letters (to match DH, myself, and LO) and that knocks out a bunch. Sigh

I love, love the name Milo for a little boy, but hubs is so opposed. It reminds him of Milo and Otis & he doesn't want a baby with a pet name. I also like the name Sunny for a little girl, but he thinks we'd look like hippies. So sad.

We don't have LOs yet, but DH isn't crazy about Willow/Harlow which I love... and our top boy/girl name right now are named after his grandpa and his grandma, so if he didn't have any say, I doubt those would be the names.. although I do LOVE our boy name. Now I just need a baby!

Georgia or Fiona for a girl. Archer or Gideon for a boy.
My husband is adamant that he only really likes three names: Kara, Kate and Charlie (for boy or girl...and that's the name of our dog). We're still working on compromising.

My DH only likes weird names. I told him whomever was pushing the baby out got to name her. And I'm letting him pick the boy name. That appeased him.

I probably would have switched the order of her names and made Catherine her first name. We gave her that name to honor my grandmother and while hubs lives the name he doesn't like all the nicknames she could have ended up with.
A boy I would give my mothers maiden name. I still have time to break hi down on that!!

I love LO's name, but I also really liked the name Loden, but DH says it does not go with our last name. I'm still working on it for a potential son. I also like Ezra but DH hates that one as well.
He really only likes DS's name and Kenji (which is our dogs name) so we are screwed if we have another boy!

there were lots of girl names I loved that he didn't. Clementine, Caroline, Eliza, Nico (he liked Nicole, I suggested Nico,.. nope, didn't like that).
I picked DS's name and we both agreed. Good thing we had a boy.
We also have a second boy name, so I'm certain if we have a second child we will have a boy.

Sophie, mia, Daisy, Summer, Jasmine for girls. Luca, Rico, Nico for boys. DH told me my names were all trailer trash, ha ha. There was literally one name in the world we agreed on for girls and A now has it. Noooo idea what we'll do if we have another girl!

@Mrs.Someone: When I was pregnant Lila would have been pretty high up my list but it sooooo doesn't go with our last name! Pretty name though.
I wanted to name LO Sydney at the end, but I let DH have full control and he didn't love it. Sophie was supposed to be LO's name for a long time!

My husband was skeptical about Ramona, but I probably could have talked him into it - but we ended up agreeing on a different girl name (and then had a boy.)

Beatrice is our daughter's name and Henry is our son's middle name.
I like Matilda and eleanor but he said no.

@Giraffe: I think it is so beautiful. My husband has a thing about names of popular characters- so Ramona and Harriet were both out (Ramona Quimby and Harriet the Spy!- I told him both of those characters were awesome girls, but he's just not into it...)

I really wanted Everett, but Hubs vetoed it. I kept it on the "maybe" list, but he never came around. I'm actually really glad he didn't, cuz that forced us to keep looking, and I stumbled across Daxon and loved it Hubs loved it, and that's what we ended up naming our LO, and it's so perfect for him!

@PurpleUnicorn: dh and his family are always saying to make sure we pick names that will sound good "internationally". Where we live now is French speaking. But usually I'm just like, "whatever!"
