What do you have in your toddlers room? We are getting her big girl room set up with two twin beds. I'm not sure what else we will need in there. I think I may do a basket for books next to te bed and keep the small bookshelf for baskets with toys and a few more books. I only have a small amount of wall space left but want to make sure I get all the fundamentals in there.

do you have a separate play room? We don't so everything is in J's room!
We have his bookshelf, two toy boxes, dresser, changing table (that we'll be getting rid of soon) and bed... but we want to get a small activity table as well.
On my to-do list over the summer is make a teepee as well.

So far, his crib (to be replaced with a twin bed in a couple of months), dresser, teepee, basket of books, basket of stuffed animals, and a few random toys (we have a separate playroom now where most toys are).

For my preschooler (but room has been this way since toddler), we have a twin bed, reading nook with rug and bookshelf and lamp, another cube shelf, and a toy box for stuffed animals . We also have a game room so most toys stay out of the room.

@T-Mom: do you keep all the clothes in the closet? Right now I feel like I don't have room or anythig else because there is a dresser and a dressing table (drawers with a bench and mirror in top). Add in a bookshel and that's all I can fit.

@Mrs. Pen: yes we have a sun room whih acts like a play room that has her art easle and desk and other toys. We have a small table with two chairs in the living room but she hardly uses it and I wouldn't mind moving it.

Twin bed, bedside table, dresser, bookshelf, desk and chair, and glider. She still likes to sit on our laps for bedtime stories in the glider. We have a play room so all the toys are there.

@T.H.O.U.: the clothes are in the closet since its a sizable closet and walk-in style. I can see how things would get crowded fast with a dresser and dressing table!

We're just getting our stuff together for DS's room, it will have a twin bed (trundle will be added later), 3 drawer chest, desk/hutch, long dresser, rocker.
The closet will likely house the 3 drawed chest for now, DS doesn't need that much space for his clothing.

@Andrea: I am really worried about not having a chair in there for bedtime stories. I am thinking we will just have to sit on one of the beds and lean against the wall. Our glider just takes up too much room!

@T.H.O.U.: do you need the two twin beds right now? I'd sacrifice one for the seating space, and maybe do a trundle in the future.

@looch: Yes, we do need the two twin beds because the room will serve as the guest room when my parents come to visit which is about every other month. Its great because there is a lot of floor space (versus having one larger bed like a queen) but there is less wall space.

Not a ton, because a lot of her toys are in the living room where we all hang out. She has her dresser, bed, a small chair, and a few toys and books. Mostly open space for playing or setting up train tracks.

@T.H.O.U.: sometimes we also sit on the floor. DD loves bedtime stories so I don't think she really cares where we sit. I just wanted to buy a new glider for the baby and there is room so we kept it for my toddler. I am sure your LO will like sitting on the bed for stories!

We have his full sized bed,, ikea expedit bookcase for his books and quiet toys (legos, puzzles, trains), pillows for his reading corner, a teepee, a nightstand,, and a rug. His room is pretty large so we're able to fit a lot in there.

DD and DS share a room but here is what is in it: twin bed (DD), crib (DS), dresser, diaper pail, laundry basket, small bookshelf with 3 baskets of books, a few random toys.

@banana: We have an ikea expedit in the closet of her nursery. I am debating if I want to put it in the closet of her toddler room.

@T.H.O.U.: You should! The expedit is awesome in the toddler room. Every week or so, we rotate the toys and books in each cubby (we have the 8 cubby one) so he gets excited when he sees his "new" toys and books. I'm planning on getting another one for my daughter when we convert her nursery into a toddler room. Love the expedit!

@banana: Yes we love it too and its great in the closet because her hanging clothes are still short enough to hang above it!

@T.H.O.U.: Get another one! lol. You can seriously never have too many of those. We find SO many uses for it and have had it for years!

@banana: haha, we just went to Ikea last week while we were on vacation in Orlando (we don't have one at home) and I actually bought a second one but it wouldn't fit in my car and I had to return it! I was so sad. I am trying to see if any friends will be down that way any time soon with a truck.
