My old EA just found out she was pregnant at 30+ weeks. It's her 5th baby, so a little shocked it took her so long to figure it out.

About 15-16 weeks. It's crazy to me! My body shows signs at 5 weeks. There would be no way for me not to know.

20 something weeks? My friend was having trouble with her weight and she didn't get her period after her 1st child was born.

@mediagirl: I know and she is not overweight and it certainly is not her first pregnancy.

@BandDmommy: Wow!!!! wasn't she showing at all since she wasn't overweight??

I think my SiL found out somewhere around the end of the first trimester with her second child. She was on BC, so it's not like she was symptom spotting.

@lady baltimore: I have a friend who had sex once with her ex BF and thought there was no chance of pregnancy, had breakthrough bleeding monthly, etc and she found out around the end of 1st trimester. She knew something was off and kept going to hospital.

My hairstylist didn't find out until she was about 11 weeks along - she was on the pill, though. I can't imagine not realizing until your third tri!

An acquaintance went to hospital with stomach pains...came out with baby. Although I will say I believe that was a complete case of denial because there were pictures of her on FB and I could tell she was pregnant. It actually ticked me off since well it was obvious and she was still partying and then was "completely shocked" when she delivered a baby.

I've actually had a few others too. My friend found out at 5 months, the doctors kept telling her it was her thyroid medicine causing the test results and symptoms but she knew it was pregnancy. They told her it was impossible, she finally went in for an ultrasound after insisting it was needed and there was her second son.
My aunt found out at like 6 months, they tried and tried for 10+ years and they told her she was infertile and they adopted my cousin. She went in for weight gain/stress issues and found out she was pregnant! it was a shock to say the least.

30 weeks?! Omg, that's nuts. I just got a BFP and I'm pretty sure I'm about six weeks, and I feel silly that I didn't figure it out earlier. I can't imagine 30!

One of my high school friend's sister found out at 30+ weeks. I think she was in denial though.
A coworker got pregnant on the pill and since her cycle was so wonky to begin with, she didn't think anything of it, had some bleeding and assumed it was her period, ran a marathon, etc. She went to a physical and her doctor found a mass in her abdomen -surprise, you skipped through your first trimester! lol
ETA: I had (HAD, lol) really tight ab muscles and I really didn't bust out with a belly until 20+ weeks and I never really had morning sickness, etc. I can see how if you have weird cycles you could pass it off as that. BUT when that baby starts moving, I don't know how you wouldn't know there's someone in there!

@daniellemybelle: they all find out late? Seems so weird to find out after 1st trimester

@BandDmommy: Thank you! It's still sinking in I think, so I really can't imagine only having 10 weeks to prepare before the baby comes, lol!

A former coworker found out at 20 weeks. She'd felt like something was going on, and went to the doctor at 7 weeks. Exam, Pap smear, the whole deal, and they didn't catch it.

@BandDmommy: Hahahaha I read this wrong! I am so tired! I thought you asked how recently someone I knew found out they were pregnant, haha! I was like... all the time!!!

My mom was a kindergarten teacher, and one day she congratulated a mom on her pregnancy, and the lady said, all offended, that she wasn't pregnant and my mom felt terrible. The mom came in the following week and said "I went to a doctor and you were right! I'm 7 months pregnant!"

I found out around 9 weeks with my first. I couldn't get an appointment to see an OB until 12 weeks. I did go to a doctor to be seen for symptoms that I would later figure out were pregnancy symptoms (but without the morning sickness). She found out I had a heart issue and never figured out I was pregnant. I took a test out of curiosity.

30-something weeks. She was having some cramps/pain, and went to the OB. They found she was pregnant and thought she was early 30-something weeks. Later that night she went into labor and delivered a full-term baby. She was a heavy runner, so she hadn't had her period regularly in years. She had gained a little bit of weight but attributed it to all the eating/drinking she'd done over the summer. They were super concerned about FAS, but at 2 years old baby boy is totally fine!

@californiadreams: you're taking about me aren't you?
I found out at ten weeks. With my first two I knew immediately, but with my third I still had a post partum tummy, I was tired because I was taking care of a four month old and a two year old, no nausea, my boobs hurt because I was nursing a teething baby, I had five days of bleeding when I expected my period, no real symptoms that weren't explained rationally by being so close to my second's birth and being EBF.
30 weeks is crazy. I feel crazy enough not figuring it out for ten.

My cousin was 20 something weeks. She was overweight and on the pill and doesn't get regular cycles I guess.

If I got pregnant right now, I might not know for months I have a major postpartum tummy, no period, constant hunger (thanks breastfeeding), and phantom kicks from gas or something. I'm actually gaining weight cause I eat everything in sight like some kind of caterpillar. So I kinda of see how that could happen!
pomegranate / 3411 posts
@oliviaoblivia: yes i was. but before you, the only person i knew who found out late was myself at 8 weeks! only because i was not TTC at all and it was a total (tipsy on wine) oops pregnancy. I did not even have the excuse of a post partum tummy or that i was nursing a baby. It was just the farthest thing on my mind that could be a possibility, and i sometimes had irregular cycles to begin with, so it wasn't until 7-ish weeks that i got concerned enough about my late period to test. Plus i had implantation spotting so i originally thought that was my period.
but ya, by 30 weeks i looked and felt like a whale! so i can't even imagine!
