What's the most expensive handbag you own?

@banana: I'm totally going to pass my Chanel down to my daughter! That's the most expensive bag I own. I invest in a nice handbag every year or year and a half and carry it to death. I've been carrying the Chloe Marcie for the past 2 years, I love it! I think my next will be something that can double as a diaper bag.

I've never spent more than $100- and that was on a nice hiking backpack.

I only use one purse at a time, and wear it into the ground before I replace it. Right now I am using a Coach bag I got for Christmas that was around $200, and that's the most expensive bag I've ever had.

my most expensive bags are my lv something (yeah i don't even know the name of it) for like $800 and MCM for like $800. my husband was willing to get me a $2,000 bag, but i just couldn't do it. lol. and there's no way i'd ever get something like the hermes for $20,000 - CRAZY!

I should say that I also have handbags in lower price points, I usually just use one at a time, so by the time I am done with it, it's pretty worn.

I had a lovely Cole Haan one that I love still, but the style is dated, I think.

I also agree that again, handbags are where you get what you pay for. The more you pay, the better chances are that the leather is better, the hardware sturdier, etc and will last longer. I don't have a daughter to pass my bags down to, but I totally would love to get a chanel and pass it down, the classic black quilted with the chain strap.

I also had two Fendis, but they were the old school black and brown stripe and the material got weird and sandy after awhile. I won't buy another Fendi for that reason.

All of my bags are given to me by my Mom. The most expensive is a LV Wilshire, a Christmas gift from her two years ago. She got all excited because at the time they were all sold out and she managed to get one and thought I'd love it. It's nice of her but if she was willing to spend all that money, I would have liked to pick out a bag I can use everyday. It's ginormous!

I also have some of her older bags she hardly ever used so they look brand new. A little Fendi, and a couple of Burberry bags she brought over when she last visited.

My ol' reliable bag that's gotten the most wear is an old Coach bookbag, this one was actually one of the exchanges she made for a Coach bag a college bf of mine bought her (but she didn't like). We bought it in Vegas, where it was newly listed and exchanged it months later at a Coach outlet (where it was still one of the newer bags) for 2 other bags.

Not very expensive! I have a few Coach bags that I scored on super duper sale so retail ~$500 but I paid a lot, LOT less. $200 is probably my limit!

@daniellemybelle: I am exactly the same way! My last real everyday bag was a white Coach carryall that is really on its last legs now and I'm so sad because they don't make that style anymore.

I have a lot of really great knockoffs (LV, Goyard, Burberry) but I don't use them much anymore. I have an old Fendi baguette I got off ebay used for about $150 a long time ago that I carry for more formal events.

Most of my expensive handbags are from Coach or Kate Spade, and always the outlets. But I actually just recently put those in a consignment shop and I'm making tons of money back...!! My mom recently gave me a Michael Kors and a Longchamp, and I have 3 Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bags and a Mia Bossi that are just as expensive

My most expensive handbag is a Burberry doctor satchel type bag. I got it for around $550 in the outlet and I was shaking when I handed over my credit card. I was thinking about selling it recently (when I gathered up all my other stuff for consignment) but I just couldn't do it. I love it too much and I've used it so much, even though it's not a shoulder bag and tough to carry with a kid, I just can't get rid of it! Not yet... maybe in the future.

It is Rob Sr.'s favorite when I tell him I don't need an LV. All my friends have them and I think he's afraid of the day when I decide I want one. I just don't love the patterns-- the new cream/grey checker pattern is cute but I'm still not loving it enough to really want it.

I do love Balenciaga bags though...

@tina: I love Balenciaga too! I totally regret not buying the motorcycle bag when it was popular 7+ years ago because it's still on trend! I thought it would pass in a year or 2...I was so wrong

I have a Coach bag that my DH surprised me with after our wedding. It was 300, the most expensive bag I"ll probably ever get. I would love a big Burberry bag as a diaper bag, but I highly doubt that will happen.

I dont have a shoe obsession, but handbags? Those are my things. I have Chanel, Burberry, LV, Chloe, Balenciaga, Jimmy Choo, Michael Kors...I freaking love my bags.

Im not sure what the most expensive one was...I think maybe the Chanel

I have 5 Coach purses, a knockoff LV Speedy (love it) and some Nine West purses. I really love my Coach purses that I bought off a girl on Craigslist. They are totally authentic and still look great. I love Coach, but I really want a Chloe Paddington with the lock on it.

I have a serious love for shoes though. You should see my closet. It's a bit sickening. My favourite shoes are my Tory Burch Reva flats.

I don't have any expensive bags but I just told my husband that for my 40th birthday (it'll take that long to save up! LOL), I'm buying myself a Chanel bag. He okayed it.

Oh you've landed right in my backyard with this post Banana! I have an unhealthy sized collection of Prada bags. I love them so much! I don't like admitting this but the most expensive was an ostrich bag that I think I spent $6000 on. My husband was so angry when the bill came. Did you decide what you'll get?

I am carrying a Kate Spade right now that was $400. My most expensive was a LV Speedy for $1000 ... until it was stolen.

For Xmas right before we got engaged DH bought me 2 Coach bags, and I got to pick them out. They were 200-300 a piece. And I bought matching shoes for one of my bags

@ecogirl: Girlfriend, I'm jealous! lol. I haven't decided what to get yet! When I'm just looking around, I'm always finding purses I like and think "OMG, I would totally get that!" But when it's time to actually BUY one, I can't decided! I need your help!

Ok so I'm thinking either a Gucci, Prada or Chanel (oh my...if only he would say yes to a Chanel...I will try though!) DH only OK'd a nice purse because he knows I take good care of them and that I will eventually pass it down to my daughter or niece (if I don't have a daughter).

I worked for a luxury brand and accumulated a collection of 9 purses over the years. They all retail for between 900-2000$ but the most I paid was about 350$. Of all my purses my favorites are the Balenciagas. I love how the leather ages and I like to rub it, so nice and soft! It's probably the only brand I would pay full price for now that I no longer have the employee discount.

Banana haha you are so cute! Chanel makes a beautiful bag. Has he given you a price limit?

mine is a d&B that retails for 350 ish? but I got as a gift. I'd never had a nice bag before that - only cheap-o target/nine west/etc ones, but after having this one & seeing how much better the quality is on it, I want another. I'm sure the more expensive you get, the better the quality, but I don't think I could pay much more than 350 ish. I'm honestly not sure that I could even bring myself to pay that!

I have 3 Coach handbags. Can't remember the price of them, but that would be the max I would spend on a handbag I think.

@ecogirl: No price limit but I'm thinking in the $2000 range? Of course a Chanel would be more. But otherwise, I think $2000 is a good limit. At first I was thinking whether I should spend it all on a purse or if I should do purse/shoes? =D $2000 sounds like a lot but we haven't exchanged gifts (besides Christmas and Birthday) for 7 years! I told him he owes me! lol. He totally agrees though because he told me he'd rather save my 7 year's worth of small gifts for 1 large one that will be worth the investment.

Banana How exciting! Run wild haha I would try to get the most bang for my buck too with such a generous limit! You could get a gorgeous Gucci bag and still have money left over for some great shoes! My friends and I are drooling over this bag now!

I used to have an unhealthy obsession with Chanel bags so I have a bunch -- now looking back, it is embarrassing! So many other things for the money to go towards nowadays.

But it sounds like really really need a Chanel bag, Banana. Hehe.

The most expensive bag I own is a black, leather Coach one. I'm more into jewelry than purses, so that's what I prefer money to be spent on for gifts.
