R stuck her hand on the Desitin tube and ingested a little bit a few months ago. I had to call poison control.

My 3 year old recently admitted to eating floss. He saw me using some the other day and he goes, "what is that?" And I told him and he was like, "I ate some of that the other day." LOL

Not my own LO, but a friend's toddler started chewing on a cigarette butt at a softball game.

@simplyfelicity: DS hasn't tried to eat one yet, but he loves picking up cigarette butts when we go on walks.
@dandelion: OMG - what was his reaction?
@mamimami: Yikes! It seems like floss would be difficult to swallow. I hate it when I even get a piece of hair stuck in my mouth.
@yellowbug: Gross! I hope that didn't make the stink bug smell.
@swedishfish: That must have been stressful. What did poison control say?

@Katrocap: He was already in a rage from being naked, so it stunned him, lol. The bath afterwards put him back into rage lol.

Not mine, but when I was at work the other day, I saw a kid(maybe 7 or 8) chewing on a pigeon feather. This is the middle of San Francisco, so the pigeons are exceptionally dirty. Probably the grossest thing I've ever seen a child do.

@mrshansen82: Yuck! I've lived in San Francisco, I can imagine what was on that pigeon feather.
@applesandbananas: Is it bad to admit that your reply made me feel a little better?

Beach sand, a dead leaf, dead bug, and a tiny stick from outside. Blech

Dog food. I've never seen a kid run as fast as mine does when we open the door to the laundry room.

@Katrocap: they just said to watch for diarrhea. I felt like the world's worst mother!

I couldn't believe no one said poop! Mine eats cat food and the bubble bath foam if we don't keep an eye on her

Styrofoam the other day. She also likes to put lotion on her finger and then straight into her mouth.

@blackbird: my lo eats the bubbles too! There's no stopping her, it's like she's snacking.

Let's see- I have found her with handfuls of dog food in her hand, but I don't know whether any made it to her mouth. I pulled a rock out of her mouth at the playground, and she always goes for the mulch too.
Her latest favorite thing to do is "pet" the dog (grab a fistful of fur) then try and put any of the fur that came out in her fist into her mouth. So gross.

@blackbird: lol i was just coming to say my child may or may not have touched duck fecal matter to his lips

My LO likes to stick her hand on her vagina when she is naked so often after bath it's a race for me to get Aquaphor & baby powder & diaper on her butt before she sticks her hand down there & eats some....

Poop. Cat food. Oh, and on Friday, she leaned over and picked something up off the ground...she was walking about 10 paces ahead of me, so I couldn't catch her before it went in her mouth. It was a cigarette butt. She didn't swallow it, thank goodness.
I'm accepting Mother of the Year nominations, LOL.

Dog hair...by the handful. It's so gross. We have a big dog (Bernese Mountain dog) and no amount of vacuuming can keep up with her shedding...especially this time of year. And for some reason, my son has a fascination with picking up any clumps he finds and putting them right into his mouth. Yuck.

@twoofeverything: What is so attractive about cigarette butts anyway? I'm sure it's only a matter of time before one finds its way into DS's mouth.

A hard, chewed up piece of gum he found on concrete at the park. Yuck!

You know those felt things you stick on the bottom of chairs so they don't scratch your floor? Yeah, found a couple of those in the diaper. Apparently they don't break down.
And the other day she looked like she was chewing on something, so I did the sweep and she'd managed to take one of my earrings from my ear and eat it.

What hasn't she eaten is a better question, I have poison control on speed dial.
She climbed up onto the counter and got the baby vicks out of the cupboard and proceeded to rub it all over and of course eat it.
She got into my parents room and put melatonin in her mouth, we got almost all of it out.
I'm sure there are more that I'm not recalling, she is a very quick and sneaky girl.
Her little sister prefers cat food.

When I was about four and my dad took me to the movies, he looked over and saw me chewing gum. He said, "where did you get that?!" And I pointed under my seat. Kids are gross, lol. But I turned out fine! (Relatively... )
