I jumped 9 lbs in one month, but before that I hadn't gained any, so it was a good thing. I've had another 7 pound jump, otherwise the normal 1-3 gains.

My biggest jump was also 10 pounds in 5 weeks. I think that it was at my 26 week appointment. In the 4 weeks after that I only gained 1 pound though!

I'm postpartum now, but I swelled horribly at the end of my pregnancy. I gained almost nothing until 22 weeks, and then it was a normal gain until I hit 34 weeks. I started gaining 10 lbs every 2 weeks. It was terrible, but at least it was all water. I lost 30lbs within days of giving birth.

@bree72: Nooo. I also started gaining late, and at almost 28 weeks I've only gained 7 pounds so far. I was really hoping I could keep it to a nice low total but you are scaring me!!

at my last appointment i went from 132 to 139 so that's 7 lbs in 4 weeks, 8 lbs total. that was at my 19 week appointment. my starting weight was 131.

@MamaMoose: I wouldn't worry unless you start retaining water. That was my downfall. You could push your finger into my leg and 10 minutes later there would still be an indent. But I don't know many people who swelled like I did. In fact, the ones I know that did had preeclampsia, so I doubt you'll get as house-like as I was.

I put on 7 pounds between the last two appts. And that's on top of the 18 I'd already put on before then!~!!!!!
I'm at 25 lbs now (29 wks) and hope to stay here for a while longer.

@Bree72 @MamaMoose: My legs/ankles are one solid mass of fluid . . . and I, too, have the oh-so-sexy pitted edema in my legs. Although my dents don't last for 10 minutes, they do last for several minutes at a time. My legs actually continue to get bigger as the day progresses asmore and more fluid settles in them. At 39/1 today, I am *so* over this, and am looking forward to pp recovery and getting rid of it! My only consolation is that at least I do know that not all the weight I gained is real, even if the numbers are still depressing to see.

I gained 4 pounds in 3 weeks, but that's all that I've gained so far, and am actually still down 8 pounds from where I started.
@chopsuey119: You can meet your goal! But if you don't, don't feel bad! The end result is worth it!!!

@MsLipGloss: Make sure you get them to stop IV fluids as soon as they can after delivery! I wish I had and they kind of just kept pumping me full of fluid and I was huge at the hospital. A nurse even commented that he wasnt sure why try kept attaching more fluids. I wouldn't have known to mention it, but I think they put in like 2 more bags than they really had to. Not pleasant.

I think 7 was the most I put on in between appointments...and I have put on 40 pounds this pregnancy...and here I am at 40 weeks!

I had gained a total of 29 at 32w. and all of it was between 24-32 so 29lbs in 8w is a whopping 3.6lbs a week! But I am 34w today and haven't gained any since and my doctor says I shouldn't. I am walking a ton and not having sweets at all.
