@jh524: my first pregnancy I didn't take additional iron or calcium and I was fine! I had a different doctor for my second pregnancy and he suggested calcium (gummies!) so I took those and also iron in case I hemmoraged....but the iron was really hard for me to stomach and I stopped taking it...well I ended up hemmoraging during delivery and I'm pretty anemic now. I should have forced myself to continue the iron! Now I need to take two everyday although they don't make me feel sick the way they did during pregnancy.

Naturemade.
Also, I found that taking mine right before bed (keep it on my nightstand and a glass of water) helped with any nausea. Most people assume you have to take them in the morning but my pharmacist and my doc said night is fine!

Rainbow Lights are super popular- guess what that's actually my regular multi-vitamin and not One A Day. DH pointed out that RL has one of the best over-the counter vitamin composition for absorption (even though I split mine in half). So, we'll see if the doctor prescribes the prescription prenatal, otherwise I'm jumping on the RL prenatal bandwagon. Thanks everyone for replying as it sparked a convo at home.

@Ginabean3: thank you I'm sorry that happened and now you deal with anemia, that would be hard! I might look into getting a iron supplement just to be safe.
