We had a name for each gender that was our top runner last pregnancy, and made a decision within a week of finding out the gender.
It's going to be much harder this time I'm afraid!! I hate not having my ducks in a row.

Around 25 weeks last time. This time, we had a front runner at 16 weeks (only a girls name but found out at 20wks she's a girl) but we are still wavering at 25wks!

DD was about 30 hours old when we finally decided! She did come almost 4 weeks early though. Our list still had about 20 names on it when she was born. We narrowed it down to about five within an hour and then down to two a few hours later. We never intended to pick before her arrival but we were hoping to only have 2 or 3 at birth.

We had names set before we had H. Now we have a boy name, a second boy name (Caelum Anthony), and two girl names (Aster Caroline and Violet Avery).

About 21 weeks for our girl name, and we had a tentative boy name around the same time. I wavered much more on the boy name. We both said we were glad we had a girl so we could use the name we loved! We were

Both times, in the operating room! We narrowed to 3, but dh got the final call and he wasn't in any hurry haha

We decided just prior to 30 weeks each time on first names. Middles names were finalized a bit later, but still before each LO arrived.

We were TG both times but DD1 we were finalized pretty much as soon as we got pregnant.
Dd2's first name was finalized at about 20 weeks, and towards the end we kind of settled on a middle. Then DH surprised me in the delivery room just after she was born by letting me have my favourite name of all time (that he isn't a huge fan of) for her middle

We brought 2 names for each sex to the hospital and as soon as he was born, we knew that the top choice was just right for him.

For me daughter I had her name-- I called her it when I'd have belly chats before hubby even agreed!
But this time... We're not sure!

For DS, we didn't have a name picked out until right before our baby shower because everyone wanted to know! Otherwise, I think we probably wouldn't have a name until I was delivering. Picking out a boy name was hard enough as is, but DH has so many friends that had boys also so names we liked were tossed out.
We had DD's name picked out when we were finalizing DS's name. lol

We had a girl name set since before being pregnant and went into the 20 week ultrasound with a first name set for a boy. Once we found out we were having boy, we decided on a MN that same day.

LO1 we were team green, had a girl name early on (pre 20 weeks) and had two boy options but weren't in live with either. Luckily she is a girl and her name is perfect. Still love it.
LO2 we knew the sex at 20 weeks, talked and talked about it and couldn't decide. Had a front runner up until 39 weeks, then started questioning it again. On the way to the hospital in labor DH suggested a name we'd been considering with a different middle name. Ten hours after she was born we decided.

We picked out the first name right after we found out the gender (while waiting for the doctor). But we didn't decide on her middle name till right before I started pushing. We had talked about it months before, but last minute debated something else, but went with our original one.

With K, it was about 24 weeks. With M, we added a middle name while I was in labour.

we had a boys name picked before i was pregnant... of course we found out she was a girl.... and fought for months over a name. I finally agreed around 36-37 weeks and she was born at 38 weeks.
Next time around, we'll probably keep with our boy choice though I'm beginning to waiver. I have a girls name picked but i dont know if hubs will agree.

I voted 31-35 weeks because we finalized DS's name at 32 weeks, but I think with DD who is older we didn't finalize until around 36 weeks. It was really hard for us to finalize and commit to something!

23 weeks and counting for this one... We are at a stalemate 
so I guess we're just putting off the inevitable fight/someone caving that will have to happen for a name to be chosen.

We had a top 3 list and kept saying we wouldn't decide until we met him, but we had a pretty clear front runner.
This time I'm 30 weeks and I feel like we're totally floundering, we keep deciding we don't like things we used to like, etc. I am finding it a bit stressful!

@Smurfette: Please tell me you had an epidural prior to that conversation. 
I'm amazed 40% of people decided after baby came! I could not have handled that uncertainty since I didn't know what kind of headspace I might be in after the birth. I can see that being kind of cool though, looking at your baby's face at the moment you settle on a name.

For my son we had his named picked for years. We had no girl options.
This time we have a boy option we both like, but it's not for sure. Again we have no girl options! If we find out we are having a girl I feel like I will never be able to pick a name!

For M, I had a name I liked forever and my husband actually agreed to it on our honeymoon. With this baby, the day we found out the sex we finalized his name.

Middle names were finalized early 3rd Tri. We narrowed down the first name to a list of 5 at the same time, and brought 3 names to the hospital. After a day it dropped to 2, and we decided between those when he was about 42 hrs old, shortly before we were discharged.

Wow, I'm surprised by the poll results saying most were after baby was born!
With DD we settled on our top boy and girl names (both first and middle) on the way to our gender scan. I wasn't as confident in our boy name so I'm glad it was a girl and I got the name I loved!
This time around we're at 30 weeks and are still debating a boy name (although we have a middle name) It's driving me nuts and I wish we would settle on something!

DD1, her name was picked the weekend I got a BFP, we never even picked a boy name. DD2, we didn't talk about it until we knew we were having another girl, but we probably didn't settle on her name until after 30 weeks (but certainly before going to the hospital!).
ETA: For DD2, I forced the issue because it was making me crazy that we didn't have a name. I needed her to be named!

Dd1--36 weeks or so
Dd2--an hour or so after birth
Dd3--several hours after birth. Her middle name wasn't picked til maybe 8 hours after?

We were team green and had a boy name ready before we were pregnant. Our girl name we had two top runners and actually decided one day after she was born! This time it is a struggle. One of my close friends used the boy name we had picked out and we can't agree on another girl name.
