My girls will start by brushing their teeth alone but I always check after, they are only 2 and 3 years old so I know they are missing spots. I am curious when kids can start getting in a good brushing on their own...I would think not for a few more years?

The dentist said that kids need help brushing properly until age 5. Our son is almost 4 and he brushes some, but then we brush for him. The 15mo just wants to splash the toothbrush in water.

Our dentist said until age 8 they want the parents to do a follow up brush

My older one is 4.5 and she does a decent job, but I still do a second round after she's done.
