While I was pregnant, there was a guy in my church (that I barely knew) that loved chatting it up in detail about pregnancy and childbirth. He and his wife had just had a baby, and I know he was excited, but it was super awkward.

One of my employees LOVED telling me about my different stages of pregnancy and post partum and pumping!!! He even likes to try to talk to me about breastfeeding which skeeves me out and I finally told him to stop talking to me about my pregnancy/post partum health. Haha.

OMG, that would really bug me. The closest I've had to this is once I ordered a peppermint hot chocolate from Starbucks, and the male cashier was like, "Um, do you want me to make that half caf or decaf for you?" And I said, "... for a hot chocolate?" He thought I had ordered a mocha. So I was doubly annoyed -- once because... dude, if I want a friggin decaf I'll ask for one, otherwise, shut up... and two, he was not listening and going to charge me twice as much for the wrong drink!

ETA also now that I think about it, I went a restaurant recently with a girlfriend and ordered one little cup of coffee because I was exhausted, and the guy was like, "Do you, uh, want that decaf?" What is it with males and the caffeine issue?!

I try not to get annoyed because I know that they usually mean well and they just repeat things they have heard from their wife, sister or other close female person.
The men in my office kept reminding me not to have caffeine, or any soda, or too much spicy food. I thought they were just being protective of me

@tororojo: I almost did! I gave him some major attitude. Almost felt bad about it, too.

awww....poor male baristas! Most of them are so young, and probably have never been around pregnant ladies before, so they just don't know.

Because of my nausea, I'm still off coffee, but I *did* recently try a frappuccino, since it doesn't really taste like coffee but I wanted a little caffeine, and I specifically asked the 18-yrs-oldish barista boy if he had a pamphlet that had the caffeine in each drink. We started just making conversation and I said I'm pregnant (I'm not really showing, just look chubby), and HE asked if I wanted decaf, and I just told him now preggos can have up to 200 mg a day.

He turned around and told the other guy, too.."Hey, did you know pregnant women can have 200 mgs of caffeine every day?"

I considered that my good work for the day. PSA announcement for preggos the world over!

I think I just don't get offended easily.
