I applied for a part-time job, and the person I would be interviewing with knows that I'm due in January. He said that wasn't a problem, but said he would want to talk in an interview about how long I thought I would need to be off because it's a very small office, etc. The job is only half-time, so I'm just trying to figure out when would be best to say I would go back. I think there's a chance I could go back for even less hours and work from home for part of my hours, but I'm not sure about that.

I had a long maternity leave (14 weeks) with E & F, and I know I wouldn't be able to take that long off. I also know that I would be technically entitled to 12 weeks of FMLA (I've worked for the same employer, but a different job, long enough to meet the requirements), but I wouldn't really feel good about doing that in this situation. I didn't have a lot of BFing success last time, so I do want to make sure I have time to try and get that really established.

So, if you were returning to a part-time job, how long would you request to be completely off? I'm thinking of saying I need 6 weeks off completely, and then would be open to coming back to regular hours, but maybe working a few from home for another couple of weeks.
