Nope, my orig OB was a douche and actually didn't deliver DS cuz he was stuck in a csect! I saw his partner (who i adore) for my pp checks and annual.

I will be shoppng for an OB because i dont want to chance the exob having to be involved if my current ob is not available.

I will use the same. I loved my midwife and the hospital I delivered in. we are likely to be living 20 minutes further away and closer to another hospital but would gladly travel for her!

Yes! I loved her. I got upset with her for being so strict on me at first but I saw where she was coming from after some research. Personality-wise: we totally clicked and I love her (really, I love her).
If I were you and didn't *love* my doctor, then I'd switch. Life is too short to spend the most precious moments (childbirth!) with someone you just don't like.

There was no way I was going back to even the same kind of doctor from my first to my second! This time, we preferred the second MW that came to our birth BUT she doesn't have nearly as much experience as mine so we'll be sticking with her.

I think we will switch to a midwife practice next time around. Just suits us better.

I would certainly love to see the same OB, but I think I'll switch due to location. My original OB (she's wonderful!) is a 45 minute drive on a good traffic day. I spent 2+ hours just driving home from appointments with LO. The midwifery group I want to switch to is 20 minutes away, and I would only risk being stuck in traffic if I were in labor during rush hour.

I thought I liked my cnmw ... but after some complications with labor and some other things that ended up happening, I realized she was just way too laid back for me. There were little red flags here and there that she didn't pick up on. When I brought my concerns up at my post-partum appointment she essentially brushed me off. SO disappointed. Thankfully I have a couple years to find a new one!

Part of the reason why I'm unsure about having another child is due to my experience with my ob. I'm searching for another doctor now.

No, but only because we don't live in the same place anymore. I wish I could go back to GA to deliver! I loved my midwives and had a wonderful experience!

Yes! I love her and I liked all the other doctors in the office when I saw them.

I'm in the exact same situation - my doctor is just okay. He doesn't ask me a lot of questions and doesn't explain much in appointments. I think I was lucky to have a really easy pregnancy with no complications. I also know he sees so many patients, but sometimes he didn't remember what we talked about previously and when I saw him last month for an annual exam, he completely forgot he put me back on birth control a few months back...why didn't he read my chart before coming in the room? When I saw one of his partners later on in my third trimester, I loved her! I felt a really good connection after talking with her for just a few minutes. It may be awkward to switch to her for my next pregnancy because there's a possibility I'll see my original doc at some point but it may be worth it to just suck it up. One of their other partners ended up delivering my baby, so it's a toss-up as to who will deliver. But I would like a more one-on-one connection with all the prenatal appointments.

I went to a group practice with four doctors and you have to see them all because you never know who will be on call when you go into labor. I like all but one..... So I'll stick with them and just hope the one I don't like isn't on call, like I did last time. She's a great doctor.... But bad bedside manner. Even if she is on call I see the doctor for like five minutes when I deliver anyway.

I'll definitely try get in with the same doctor, she was my second doctor of my pregnancy and gave me kick-ass morning sickness meds (the first one wouldn't) so I loved her straight away and would beg her to take me on again, ha ha. She's A's doctor now so it shouldn't be a problem.
