No, but I know coworkers who have mentioned something to HR about other sick coworkers!

I have been known to follow them around with a bottle of Lysol and spray everything they touch. A bit crazy? Probably, but eventually, they get the point and start staying home when they're sick. (We have *20* sick days a year for them to use - USE THEM!!)

I would say something to my manager and HR if the manager was not responsive. Seriously, how can you effectively do your job today worrying about this walking germ touching everything! People like that really tick me off. They may be able to tough it out, but they are putting so many others in harm's way.

What about your boss' boss? Even if he/she doesn't work in that building, they're still in charge! My second level doesn't work here, but I would have no problem reporting that!

If it's something like the sniffles I usually don't mind (since it does suck to have to play catch-up when you miss work), but the flu is a whole different story. Why did he feel compelled to come in? The flu is extra nasty this year and there is no office work that can be that important that he puts others at risk for getting sick, especially a pregnant woman.

I really hate that. I could see that he wouldn't think about you bringing the germs home to your baby (out of sight out of mind) but the 8 month pregnant woman isn't a reminder that getting sick is a much bigger deal to some people and you should be a little more considerate?
I'm really non confrontational so I probably wouldn't say anything and I'd be mad all day. Just wash your hands and sanitize a lot, use paper towels to open doors, and hope for the best I guess. And if he came back in tomorrow obviously sick, I might say something.

I would DEFINITELY say something to him! Even if it's a half joke that gets the point across like "Wow, thanks for coming to work with the flu! It definitely makes the day more interesting when I spend it 100% focused on how NOT to catch your germs and bring them home to my baby!"

I would talk to the boss or HR also. They should send him home. And if I was pregnant like the other girl, oh Hells NO he would not be staying at work around me!

I would say something for sure, I hate when people think it's necessary to come to work when they are sick. Once thing you dn't get anythign done because you feel horrible and 2 we have too many people with young children and pregnant people to be messing with it!

YES!!!! Say something to your boss! That person needs to go home. Ugh, martyrs like that are the worst. Nobody wins when you come to work sick!

@MungBean: We often have to come in to work sick. I mean we're always sick in my line of work! But we are mandated to wear a mask all day if we do come in sick. I also make it a big point to purell and wipe down everything a sick co-worker or a sick me has touched. None of us get offended because we all know the drill!

Wow. I don't work but DH has crohns and takes meds for that which makes his immune system not so great so he has to be very careful. If someone did that at his work, I think he'd take a PTO. Not worth getting sick!

I hate it when people come into work sick! I think it's really inconsiderate, considering we are all breathing the same air and sharing the same copier, fax machine, etc.

I used to work with a co-worker who would come into work sick all the time, cough and spit into her trash can. She acted like this was the most normal thing ever, while I watched her in horror. I used to spray down her desk and keyboard with Lysol while she was at lunch.

With only 3 days a year sick leave at my second job, I have no choice but to come to work sick. I just constantly sanitize and wear a mask. I also never touch a patient without gloves. But in your situation it is different. I would just keep sanitizing and hope you don't get it!
